Hotel Diagonal Zero

Very clean, nicely furnished, well equipped rooms. The TV's have an easily connected set of AV/hdmi/vga connections ready for use by guests. With free WiFi, streaming UK tv from TVcatchup this meant no shortage of UK channels to watch. Its very close to the large shopping center Diagonal Mar, with lots of boutique shops and which is anchored by a huge supermarket. Glories is even larger collection of shops a little farther up the Diagonal. The hotel is right next to a tram stop which (Line T4) takes you right past Glories and to the Olympic Park/Zoo entrance in about 15 minutes. From there most of tourist Barcelona is in walking distance.

Some of the bathroom fixtures were coming slightly adrift. There's no kettle, and none are available. We didn't fancy taking the staff advice of microwaving the provided polystyrene cups to boil water. A warning card about automaticaly-charging for handling the room bar fridge contents was found on the second day, and led to a long running battle with our 4 year-old son who thought it was a great game to go into the fridge and take everything out. If the hotel wants to use the auto-charge notice and charging system please give us a means to lock out the little ones for our own peace of mind. Luckily no such charging actually took place, but the notice and movement sensing equipment were in place should the hotel management want to do so

The rooms are spacious, clean and there is free of charge wifi connection throughout the hotel. The breakfast buffet is nice and the hotel restaurant has a very reasonably priced set menu, which was refined and tasty.

The hotel boasts that their rooms are equipped with a micro-wave, which they are, but to what purpose? There is no cutlery or dishes in the room, not even cups in which you could heat up some water. they have teabags and soluable coffee in the room, but nothing to make it in. So rather than putting in a ridicuous microwave, it would be better to go back to basics and have the room equipped with a kettle and cups. The bathroom is nice but the (rain-)shower hardly is worth this name as when you turn the tap to get some hot water, which takes long to heat up, it comes out in drops rather than rain. Also some basics like a box of tissues was missing in the room.

Friendly Staff, excellent facilities, and really good value for money. I would definitely visit again

The only slight crticism is that the hotel is a little out of the way, although it is extremely handy for public transport.

Big windows and wonderful seasides. It is nice, friendly. Romantic terrace on the top floor. Warm-coloured design

I use hotels a lot. Its rare to find one to excels beyond my expectations. This hotel did. I was with my wife and young children. Great location. My wife loved that we were very close to a big shopping mall. From the moment we arrived the staff went above and beyond what is expected of them. One gentleman (named Alexandro) on reception on the night we arrived was was so incredibly helpful that even my kids were impressed. All the staff we met during our stay were equally helpful. The room was excellent and the wi-fi was fast. I didn't have breakfast there as I considered 18 euro to be way to expensive for continental breakfast, But I would not hesitate in returning to this hotel or recommending it. The only thing I didnt like was that someone told me they allows pèts to stay. If true that would be such a shame as in my eyes any hotel that allows animals to stay in a room is substandard accommodation. If its not true this will be my hotel of choice in the Barcelona area.

Comfortable, clean, modern, high-tech. Would be great for lovers or honeymooners.

Would like to see a more opaque blind in the window between the sleeping area and the bathroom. Great for honeymooners or a couple; not so great sharing with a grown son. Also, it took me a while to figure out all the gadgetry, such as how to control the lights & temperature.

Problems with the heating and all the electronic equipment

location is very good near to metro station ,near to tourist bus station . reception speaks english very well .the hotel has car parking with suitable price . every thing was a great in this hotel . the tourist bus tickets is available in the hotel and i bought from it . taxi services available also , for me it was excellent price

only one thing ,it was not good for me . i could not connect to internet in my room ,the signal was very weak

The hotel did not have heat all the time in the room so it was very uncomfortable with a little baby. I called reception to please turn the heat up and they did, but hours later everything was the same (cold). It is strange a nice hotel like this one wants to cut down on the heat when it was so cold outside.
