Perfect for rustic breaks in the countryside, an Inn is a small property with basic hotel services and typically traditional decor. Inns are fully licensed and have a bar providing food and drinks in the evening, which distinguishes them from country or guest houses.
We loved Sherwood Inn!
It was fantastic to be able to use their kayaks and canoes all included in your stay!
The breakfast was Excellent!
The resort was very clean and welcoming!
Can’t wait to stay there again soon!!
I have stayed at Sherwood Inn many summers, mostly 5 nights at a time. I love the place because of its location by the lake, it’s old world charm, giant trees, peacefulness, good food and excellent service.
We love the location on the shores of Lake Joseph in the Muskoka's. The restaurant and lounge had a wide range of choices in a wide price range. As it was off-season (mid-October) we didn't take advantage of the outdoor amenities like paddle boards, kayaks and fat bikes but we did enjoy sitting around the fire, after dinner, talking with other guests, and roasting marshmallows.
Breakfast was good..location was exceptional. My only real concern was the taste of the drinking water. It had an odd taste that was off-putting. Couldn't drink the coffee or tea because of it. Purchased bottled water which solved the problem for the most part..also had to purchase a small kettle from Port Carling for our morning tea as the room supplied coffee maker/kettle was very small. Overall we enjoyed ourselves very much however i think the water quality at the inn is something that should be reviewed by management.
The location and the view from the Sherwood Inn are amazing. There are several viewpoints and places to relax. Staffs are very welcoming. The room was adequate. The restaurant served delicious food.
very nice property with a great view of the lake in the winter! the room was equipped with everything we needed for cooking! we would come back for sure. we ate dinner at the legion for 8$ each, it was great. there’s a park near the legion that has an outdoor rink !!
The location is beautiful. The room (Maple Building , 524) a bit run down but very comfortable. Nice big whirlpool tub. The view of the lake from our room was beautiful. We went in the dead of winter during a Covid spike so not a lot to do. Walking on trails and then lighting a fire, moving an easy chair to the window to overlook the lake with a book was very cozy. Breakfast and dinner were really good! First class towels. Staff is attentive and very courteous.
The Inn is a step back in time, but they have kept it up to a wonderful standard. Beautiful long driveway leads to a picture-perfect old-fashioned inn. We went in the Fall with gorgeous surrounding colour.
