Everything, mostly how friendly and helpful the service was. Even the pub isn't noisy from the room, and everything looks like it shut down by 11. Also the water bottle in the room is a wonderful touch!

Very kind, accommodating owner and staff. Location is close to Highclere Castle, so it was perfect for our tour of the famous Downton Abbey filming location then a short drive into town to see the second Downton Abbey movie at the cinema. What a wonderful day! The tea table in my room, stocked with yummy packaged cakes, crisps and apples was a delightful touch. Comfortable rooms with lots of character. Had dinner and a mango cider in the pub one evening, just lovely!

The room was very stylish and modern. The bathroom was huge with a great shower. The bed was super comfortable. We ate at the restaurant and the food was delicious. The brekkie was included and it was lovely definitely having the brekkie included.

Food was amazing! We had dinner there the night we arrived and breakfast in the morning and the food was great, nicely presented and good-sized portions. The rooms were stylish with wooden fittings and low-level lighting. The shower was hot and powerful and the toiletries in the bathroom were a nice surprise. The offer of fresh milk for the room was appreciated. The staff were really friendly and helpful.

So charming, it’s just as lovely as it seems. Get there early for dinner and enjoy the pub. We spent a happy evening there- eating wonderful food, doing bits and bobs, trying pints and playing cards. Room was comfy, plenty of parking and the breakfast was just as nice. The staff are an asset for sure.
