Perfect for rustic breaks in the countryside, an Inn is a small property with basic hotel services and typically traditional decor. Inns are fully licensed and have a bar providing food and drinks in the evening, which distinguishes them from country or guest houses.
So hospitable. The room is tired but you are in the fresh mountain air, with amazing produce, food and authentic people. You will sleep fine and really recommend to take dinner there. I only wish we did not choose to have breakfast there. If you are coming to hike the gorge, have breakfast at the cafe at the entrance point to the gorge. The cheese they have is excellent though!
Great location to start or end the Samaria gorge hike. Around 4km to the entrance. Easy to reach by car and bus. The local owner family is super friendly and made an awesome dinner in their taverna for us. Bfast was standard cafe bread, eggs and jam. The room was clean and comfortable. Great value for the price.
Mike and Stefania are excellent hosts. They drove down (up?) from Chania to meet us on arrival with some fresh pastries and raki. The house is comfortable, well equipped and beautifully isolated. It is off the main roads so you just have to mind the flocks of dozing sheep lying in the road when returning from dinner at night. Then sit back and gaze at the stars...!
Very good base for Samaria gorge walk. It is only 5-7 minutes by car from the national park gate. Remote, rural escape. Very quiet place, good sleep Nice rural surrounding. Parking in closed yard. Very warm and friendly welcome by hosts. Tap water is not drinkable but enough bottled water in the fridge. Well equipped kitchen, you can make your breakfast. Coffee, tea available. Good, strong wifi. TV, AC (works to warm up the room as well). Tavernas not far away. If you are lucky, you can taste liocal honey.
People were very very kind (réception, taverna,...)
Room clean, and had everything needed
They offer you to pick you up / drop you off at the entrance of the gorge
Super Nice breakfast
Really liked my stay
The place is located right on the verge of samaria gorge entrance. Great location. Very clean. Each house has a litttle fireplace and some soffas and tea and coffee so we enjoyed our stay inn the cold evening before the trip
The location is fantastic for the Samaria Gorge!! The owners and staff are very welcoming and they are super helpful. Especially when it comes to preparing for crossing the Gorge, every need is covered. Early breakfast, in time for entering, mini-bus to take you to the entrance, dinner at a reasonable time to allow you to rest. Really everything you need, at a very reasonable price, always big smiles and people ready to help. Definitely the choice for Omalos!
Perfect for a trip to Samaria Gorge! The host was very friendly and had a solution for every need! He gave us a free shuttle to the entrance of Samaria Gorge and let us leave the car and bag for the night! I liked very much the taverna with daily local dishes and rustic cosy atmosphere!
