Set in Builth Wells and with Elan Valley reachable within 28 km, Seven Stars Inn offers a restaurant, allergy-free rooms, free WiFi and a bar. We did not have breakfast as we do not eat breakfast in the mornings, but we were offered it and I am sure it was very nice.

Sandy Mount House features a garden, terrace, a restaurant and bar in Rhosneigr. This 5-star inn offers free WiFi. The property is non-smoking and is located 600 metres from Llydan Beach. Beautifully elegant however without pretence. lovely accommodation, fabulous setting, although I was there on business it felt like a holiday. Ade and the team make you feel like you are a part of the SMH family.

Featuring a terrace, restaurant, bar and free WiFi, The Roast Ox Inn is located in Builth Wells, 41 km from Elan Valley and 13 km from Clifford Castle. OMG, what a great Inn. The bed was extremely comfortable, the setting was idyllic and it was quiet. The food was excellent and the staff were so friendly. The pub was very busy and a lot of fun, though I was too tired to take full advantage of the Saturday night fun. Breakfast was a full-on English breakfast with cereals, juice, 2 eggs, bacon, homemade toast and jam, mushrooms, roast tomato and the best breakfast sausage know to man. Be sure to reserve a table for dinner as they do fill up. As an aside, the kind staff (Christine and Jan) look after a feral cat that hangs out at the Inn. Not sure of his/her name, but she was very friendly and liked a good scratch on the neck. I woke up early the next morning to find the cat waiting at my door. After a light scratching, She led me downstairs to let her out. The entire experience at Roast Ox Inn was perfect and is highly recommended.

Set in Cwm-Duad and with Carmarthen Castle reachable within 16 km, Afon Duad Inn and Dolau Cottage offers express check-in and check-out, non-smoking rooms, a shared lounge, free WiFi and a bar. The location was very convenient for us because we were travelling by car and visiting family at a nearby campsite, but I think this location is good for visiting Newcastle Emlyn too or exploring the hills and coast. The owners are wonderful people and we really enjoyed chatting to them and appreciated the skill and creativity they have brought to bear on restoring and decorating this fascinating building. The breakfast was beautifully presented and utterly delicious... I wish I had taken the opportunity to have an evening meal there, but hopefully there will be another opportunity soon.

Situated in Capel Hendre, 25 km from Grand Theatre, Kings Head features accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a restaurant and a bar. Breakfast was muesli with lots of fresh fruit. Coffee was excellent.

Set in Llanarmon Dyffryn-Ceiriog, The Hand at Llanarmon features a garden. Offering a restaurant, the property also has a terrace. The accommodation provides free WiFi. This was a stop on our driving tour of Wales and a great "find." The meals, dinner and breakfast, and service were excellent.

Located in Abercych, near Cenarth Falls, The Nags Head Inn has riverside beer gardens and decked canopied areas outside, and boasts an award winning gastropub restaurant and a bar on the banks of the... Friendly, welcoming country pub, in a beautiful location. The room and facilities are excellent with great breakfast, and wonderful staff. Excellent meals in the pub, and would highly recommend staying or at least having a meal. Plenty of parking available
