We knew the location was an acceptable one (was why we chose it along with the rate and integral restaurant services) but were pleasantly surprised at how right we were--for us being steps from Plasa Catalunya and around the block from La Ramblas was salutory to say the least when we had thougth we needed to be closer to the waterfront. Staff was most helpful and food service was very good.

The hotel's in-room safe was welcome but there was a $5E/day surcharge for it that was annoying (our immediately preceding cruise x 14 days had same at $0) + a $50e deposit requirement that stuck us with extra Euros to take home (or exchange at further cost). More importantly, the hotel, marble halls and floors and loose-fitting non-sound-insulated doors and no carpeting, is not designed for quietude. Our inside room (wall for a view (not a big problem for only two days) was subject to repeated nocturnal noise from a family with small child who created disturbances late at night repeatedly--affecting mrs. Alaia's rest greatly. We should have requested a room change immediately but had airport departure at 6am on night two so held off.

Location, comfort, friendly staff, cleanliness. The hotel is a short distance to several tourist spots and shopping areas which is very suitable for first time visitors.

central location makes walking to all the old city attractions and Las Ramblas easy. great restaurants nearby. friendly and efficent staff and comfortable. I would stay again

it's in a super central location,had friendly helpful staff,and room was a nice size.

air cond not very cooling-made it hard to sleep, and the pool, although lovely for a cooling plunge, is very small, not all deckchairs get the sun, the others only get it from midday til 4pm.

nothing was to much trouble for the staff even when our first room did not have much of a view.they moved us to a better room straight away

The location of the hotel was very nice at the center of Barcelona near restaurants and shopping even close to the airportbusstop. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The hotel was quiet, we couldn´t hear the noise from the town inside. The beds were nice.

Poor airconditioner in the room. The TV didn´t have eurosport.

Right in the middle of everything. The positive surprise was the large walking street outside the hotel. Very nicely situated. Entrance and restaurant handicap friendly.

Rooms not handicap friendly. Small rooms difficult to move around in. Why does all hotels have bathtubs? A shower would work for everyone handicapped or not.
