Very close to metro station. Bars and souvenir shops around.

Very dirty. Found disgusting small insects on the pillows, bed and on the walls. The windows cannot be locked properly.

The location of the hotel was ideal. Situated right in between the Gothic Quarter and the port, it was very close by things to see and do, such as La Rambla, and transportation links like tour buses or the subway.

the location of the hotel is right in the center of it all, and we had easy access to everything including the beach and the metro station.The room was pretty clean and so was the bathroom.The staff was friendly and helpful in several occasions when we needed them.

It was hard to communicate with some staff that did not know how to speak french or english. The beds are not very comfortable and there are no windows, so the room is dim. The door on the balcony did not do a proper job by isolating the noises on the street, which makes you feel as if the people on the street are actually screaming and talking in your own room!

Best location in the city. Everything is in walking distance.

The hotel is in the amazing Barrio Gotico, full of people at night and a 5 minute walk from the Ramblas. It is only 50 meters from Jaume I metro station and quite close to Picasso Museum, the Cathedral and other interesting places. Hotel position was excellent.

No hair dryer. Room is essential but fair, considering the price.

I had a great time staying at Rey Don Jaime I. Staf were very helpful and nice. Location is excellent.

The Hotel staff does not interact in English at all. It was so difficult. The room was clean though but did not have even the basic toiletries like soap and toilet paper. On asking the staff we were told that they do not provide these in the hotel. I don't know how can one stay without them. A bad experience overall

centrally located in the Barrí Gótic, near metro station Jaume I, pretty quiet street, but accessible for cars. The Superior room in the annex was pleasant. Public payphone in the hall. The walls and doors of the saloon in the first floor are magnificently decorated.Friendly and efficient staff, efficiency considerably above the average of hotels in Barcelona on this price level.

In the saloon sofas and ceiling disturbed the impression the walls and doors made.

location is great. rooms are clean with small balconies to the narrow old town street.

The bathroom was rather small

You get what you pay for in life and that applies here as well. It was an entirely acceptable hotel for the price. The location was wonderful! We stayed a night before our cruise and one night after so we had two different rooms. The first stay our room was modern and the second stay was a larger room but not very clean. One the plus side, the second room had a balcony!

The second room was not very clean and did not have any toiletries - soap or shampoo.
