Located 18 km from the Iguazú Falls UNESCO World Heritage Site, Puerto Iguazú is an Argentinean town situated near the Brazilian border, in the Province of Misiones. Its compact city centre is packed with restaurants, cafés and shops, while the area is well-known for its red soil and lush vegetation.
The stunning falls comprise 275 individual falls spread over 3 km between Argentina and Brazil. They have a maximum height of 80 metres and a water flow that can be three times superior to that of the Niagara Falls.
The Guaraní natives named the falls ‘iguazú’, meaning ‘big water’. The national park was founded in 1907, and some of the best hotels in Puerto Iguazú are located in the road linking the city centre to the falls. Some hotels on the Argentinean side of the waterfalls offer beautiful views.
The local bus station offers links to several long-distance destinations, including Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires. The city is served by Cataratas del Iguazú International Airport, while the Brazilian Foz do Iguaçu International Airport is 16 km away.
Whether you need a backpacker hostel, a hotel near the airport, or a 5-star resort, don’t miss the Puerto Iguazú deals available on Booking.com!

We came to just see the Iguazu Falls on both Argentina and Brazil side, they were amazing, I would highly recommend visiting, we didn't do much traveling into the town, we stayed at the Gran Melia Hotel and pretty much just hiked the falls

It is a wonderful city, mainly for the falls. I visited the falls for the whole 2 days I was there, and also went to the three frontiers. The city is very safe, except for the mosquitos...use repelent!!!

Very disappointed.
Very disappointed. Spent time and money to get to this part of Argentina to see these falls and we saw very little due to over tourism. It was so crowded you were elbow to elbow, face to face and some times wheel chairs running over your feet so they can get by. It was terrible. What a way to ruin 1 of the 7 wonders.

I loved the Falls, especially the Argentina side. This was also our chance to visit Paraguay. There were some nice restaurants nearby. The weather was terribly hot and humid. We didn’t stay long at either Park because it was too hot and crowded in the morning. The sidewalks in Puerto Iguasu are terrible.

Seeing the Falls was a once in a lifetime amazing experience. Hiking trails are clearly marked and easy to walk. Trails well planed across the tops of falls allowing for various views of the falls. Restaurants in the park provided a broad choice of food and drinks and very good WiFi.
Toilets near restaurants were clean and well stocked with paper and soap.
Fantastic experience!
The city of Puerto Iguazu was small enough to navigate on foot but with many choices of good restaurants and places to stay.
I was unlucky with the weather (torrential rain) so spent quite a bit of time at the hotel, but it worked out because the lobby and hotel restaurant were cosy spots for getting some work done in between my travels. The surrounding greenery, large windows and heavy rain fall made a nice ambience! Staff was lovely and welcoming! The restaurant food is average but they have a good wine list. Many attractions are nearby but the town is a bit far (3km+). That said, I enjoy a big walk.
Luckily the location was great as we crossed into Argentina from Brasil so it was one of the first hotels we saw. As Argentinians cross the border to fill their car with cheaper petrol, the line for the petrol station was bumper to bumper outside our hotel entrance. There was a little miscommunication upon check in but we managed to find a number to order food from a restaurant as we arrived late, but staff were helpful.
Great location, easy walk to great restaurants, but most importantly, an 8 min walk to the bus station to reach both the Argentinian and Brazilian side of the falls. Modern hotel, comfortable bed, spacious shower, rooftop pool and restaurant. you can see the river and the surrounding city from the rooftop. breakfast was plentiful (chicken, steak, eggs, fruit, pastry, cereal, you name it), fair price when paid in cash
Pool bar and area excellent. Good location; big room and comfortable; shower good; breakfast OK but not exceptional; reception staff very friendly; I asked the duty manager if they did tours to the falls and he explained how to do the falls without a tour - this is, in my view, the best way to do it (no need for a guide) - it is impressive that the hotel did not try to sell me a tour and to upsell
Immersed in the jungle, this is a wonderful and very quiet hotel with spacious rooms and relaxed staff. Swimming pool area is great for unwinding after visiting the falls but also for spotting stunning butterflies. They also recommended great drivers for our day trips!
Onsite restaurant is great - lots of locals even make the effort to go there.
- Lovely rooms with comfy beds
- The hotel staff were super helpful in organising trips to the waterfalls
- The restaurant served the best steak we ate in 7 weeks in South America
- The hotel had construction work which the hotel had made super clear when we booked but it was a holiday when visited so they were not working
I love the attention they gave us, the owner is kind, Nicolas and the staffs are amazing. They provide transport for us at affordable price to the Iguazu falls which is not far from the hotel but not a walking distance. The next morning at 6am they transported us to the airport, Nicolas is a kind gentleman he drove us.
Hotel arranges complimentary airport pick up. Driver was waiting for us on arrival with nameboard. Check in was handled well and efficiently. Night Receptionist (Cloishi) was exceptional, very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good and adequate. Had a good stay while visiting Iguazu Falls. Thank you.
Phenomenal hotel, ideally located (walkable) for the Iguazu Falls.
The staff were very helpful, the food was great and the spa was wonderful. Upgraded to a “falls view” room which was good though not as big as was expecting. The visiting monkeys to the balcony was a nice treat!
The host, Mariano, was amazing - gave me information about visiting the falls and recommendations for around the town on Puerto Iguazu as soon as I checked in. The accomodation was clean, good location close to restaurants and the bus station. I could easily have stayed longer!
We loved the decor of the hotel with all the wood. It was nice to be away from the main traffic. The cabinas are set amongst the jungle and even so we didn't see alot if bugs or mosquitos. The pool area was great and they kept ot very clean of leaves and debris.
Parking available in private lot in front of hotel. Location is within walking distance (couple blocks) of many restaurants. The value of the rooms for the price seemed very good compared to other hotels/hostels I stayed in in northern Argentina.
Highly recommend Tré! Gorgeous, super clean hotel in great condition. Breakfast was delicious and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was really spacious and comfortable. Big pool and pretty grounds. We were sad to leave.
It was a quick trip to the bus station to get to Uguazu Falls. Restaurants were a short walk away. They provided a nice breakfast. The family that operates the hotel were sweat.
The hotel is great and in an excellent location in the jungle. The staff is helpfull and kind. Easy to reach waterfalls on both Argentinian and Brazilian sides.
