The hospitality was truly felt. From the moment you enter, the staff are very helpful and friendly. My room was nice, all the amenities were great, and I loved every bit of the breakfast, also the little corner where you can pack sandwiches to go. In the bistro downstairs, you can even borrow books, although most of them are in Czech. Overall, it was a pleasant stay, and I’m definitely going to recommend it to anyone I know who’s traveling to Prague.

FAQs about hotels in Prague

Discover the Magic of Prague

The Czech capital is nothing short of magical, with Prague’s countless bridges, cathedrals, domes and castles reflected in the Vltava River. Thankfully, the city escaped most of WWII’s destruction, leaving the rich history and fairytale facade of this Bohemian city intact.

Prague Castle is the largest ancient castle complex in the world and the St. Vitus Cathedral is a stunning example of Gothic architecture. The Cathedral’s lookout tower rewards those willing to climb 300 steps with the best view of the city.

Walking through the cobblestone streets of the Mala Strana district will bring you to the Charles Bridge. Prague’s beautiful 14th-century monument buzzes with musicians and local crafts sales. The Astronomical Clock, Tyn Church, and Storch building of Old Town compete for popularity with the neoclassical Estate Theatre and the Czech National Museum.

The cafes and restaurants of Wenceslas Square are great for people watching and the Franz Kafka house, the Old New Synagogue and Frank Gehry’s Dancing House are perfect for soaking up history.

Flights arriving at Vaclav Havel International Airport will be in the city center after a short subway ride. For historic hotels, cheap hostels or charming apartments head to Booking.com for nearly 700 accommodations in Prague.

Prague was a city that far exceeded my expectations.

Prague was a city that far exceeded my expectations. The Charles Bridge and the Castle and St. Vitus Cathedral provided an amazing backdrop. The history and culture of this ancient crossroads to Europe has endured centuries of change and sheds a light of the wonder of humanity. Additionally I must note the public transportation really connected every part of the city.

It's hard not to fall in love with Prague, be it the Old Town, Lesser Town, Castle District or New Town, each of this area has its unique beauty. Travelling around by public transport with day pass is convenient and relatively cheap for European city. For those who loves nature, can explore the Petrin hill and Strahov Monastry for a hike and magnificient view of the city, or visit the nearby attraction such as Cesky Krumlov (about 2.5h by private van) for the fairy-tale like village feel. Goulash, langos and the local beers (Pilsners and Kolaz) are must-try when you are in Prague. Highly recommend U Kocoura and U Glaubicu restaurants - delicious food, comfy settings, friendly services and reasonably priced.

Order and cleanliness, transport is 24h. Very greeting and polite people, especially at hospitality sphere, everybody knows English, + some speak other languages also like Italian, Russian, etc. City is gorgeus, with a lot of trees, parks and bushes. Lot of police at night near clubs. Streets are safe and very few immigrants in general. Must visit - Prague Castle, Narodni Museum, Old town center,Charles Bridge, Prague Zoo, From airport 25 min and 18 eur. by taxi to Hotel Atlantic, near Paladium shopping center, but there are also other options available.

Even on the shoulders of the summer peak (i.e, late May), Prague is crowded. The Old City in particular seems disneyfied. Go in the early evening to the Charles Bridge, and just roll with the photo bombing. Plan on spending a day in the P Castle and marvel at the neogothic St Vitus Cathedral there. Know that there are hills, but once you learn your way around the tram lines, you can skirt up them on wheels. The secret is out, folks. A nice thing is the robust transit system (trams and subways) and the architecture is so lovely.

Given that we visited during summer (first week of August)...

Given that we visited during summer (first week of August) we expected it to be a lot crowded. We were pleasantly surprised that it wasn't. Only after a day we realized that we were staying in the quieter part of the city, even though it was just 3 stops away from the main railway station. The Old Town Square gets as touristy and crowded as it can. The intermittent rains ruined half the fun, but we explored the city nonetheless. What we did was mostly the touristy things, given that we went as a family. Visehrad Castle, Charles Bridge, Old Town Square, Prague Castle were the places we covered. Coming from Germany where you need to carry cash, it was such a relief that we could tap the card everywhere. No need to worry about the expensive currency exchanges, particularly in the railway station or airport. It is a relatively small city and any place is 15-20 minutes away by public transportation. The city is well connected with trains, trams and buses. We purchased a 72 hours tickets and we never had to worry about reaching anywhere any time. Given the hype around the city I was curious to see what the fuss is all about. Now it is a tick off on my bucket list. Is it a city worth visiting? Yes - why not. It is an absolute must visit - not necessarily. Perhaps if I visit solo, my experience could be a lot different and naturally my impressions - and I do not know for now whether it will be for good or bad,

I love Old Town Prague. The buildings are beautiful. I went to a beautiful chamber music concert and also to the black light theatre. I would have gone on a boat trip but it was raining so I gave it a miss. It is full of life and energy and peaceful when the crowds aren't too large.

Grandium is a big and comfortable hotel close to the city center. The standard twin room met our expectations. The breakfast was the highlight of our stay, as the variety and quality of foods was excellent. The location of the hotel was also pretty convenient, about 10 mins on foot from the Old Town Square. The price of the room was also very good. The only downsides were the TV, that had no streaming services, only international TV channels, and the expensive mini bar, although that can be expected in 5 star hotels.

We had a fabulous 4 day stay at the Julius and liked everything about this hotel. Rooms are really well designed, with a modern, minimal vibe and very comfortable. We stayed in one of the studios with a kitchenette which had absolutely everything we needed. Staff were incredibly friendly and very responsive. Its a great location just a short walk from the Old Town Square and the sights but in a quiet and less touristy area. Would highly recommend.

This hotel is well worth considering for a short stay in Prague. Our standard room was definitely 'no frills', but the bed was comfortable and the shower was excellent. Breakfast was good. The location is great; a short walk to Old Town Square and close to the metro and tram stop. Something to note: the courtyard shown in the pictures isn't the main entrance. From the street the hotel looks quite different - which was confusing on arrival.
