Dominated by the castle, Bamburgh is a lovely piece of Northern English history. The church is hugely historic and well worth a visit, as well as the Grace Darling museum. Good restaurants and pubs and a beach with a view to die for round off the offer - amazing to think all that is packed into a small town.

Bamburgh seems a lovely place but we were surprised that there didn't seem to be a general shop or an obvious one. The range of eating places is not wide and and the ones offered seemed quite expensive. However we decided to eat in the hotel and that turned out to be a good decision.

Great for dogs, lot of dogs staying there and all well behaved and under control. Nice pet friendly pubs and restaurants. No late opening shops and very few buses, last bus to and from bamburgh was 19:30 ish, not an easy walk to anywhere else after dark as no street lamps on coast roads.

The Victoria Hotel was brilliant, staff Fantastic, breakfast was included and it was great each morning. We ate at the hotel for two evenings and the food was divine. One of the nights we ate at the potted lobster and that was also 10/10 for a fish restaurant we couldn't ask for more. Would definitely recommend it 👌 👍

We only stayed for two nights - there's lots of history there and we really enjoyed the castle, beach and church. Delicious food readily available and we're planning to return for a longer trip as lots to see in the area.

We had a room on the top floor that overlooked the church and the sea in the distance. The room was a decent size and comfortable, though we didn't stay in it very much. It was very sunny when we were there and the room heated up considerably in the afternoon so we appreciated the windows that could open wide. The bathroom was functional and clean. The staff were all lovely and friendly. Breakfast was excellent with a wide choice of hot and cold items. The location was excellent for walking into Bamburgh - about 3 minutes away.

Lovely location and very peaceful. Beautiful views. Well equipped and nice touch re welcome items ie Coffee, Tea and dishwasher tablets etc Not sure if this is standard or we just got lucky! Towels and bedding good quality and comfortable. We all slept well! Lovely views from all the rooms and a warm place which was cosy after a dog walk along Bamburgh beach. Constant Hot water was fab too. Kids room was really cute and a great way to make the place a 4 adult / 4 child occupancy.

The welcome.from the staff was very warm and very helpful, All of the staff were great, friendly, remembered your name and room number, always attentive and served you quickly but not pushy, room very comfortable but the highlight by far was the Food. Absolutely delicious and well worth the money, Breakfast had loads of choice and always cooked fresh to order. Couldn't fault this hotel for a solo traveller visiting Northumberland. 11/10

Beautiful hotel in a great location, room was comfortable, very comfy bed and pillow with fantastic views. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was superb, special mention for the delicious sausages! Full cooked breakfast available as well as a fantastic Continental. Loved the wee bottles my Apple Juice came in, when I go to Bamburgh (or Bebbanburg for me) I’ll be staying at The Sunningdale!

Comfortable settees and large bed. The towels are lovely and fluffy. The house was lovely and warm.Lots of parking next to the accommodation. The cottage is set in an area with no other buildings around so lovely and quiet. Waking up to the birds was lovely. We watched the birds in the woodland opposite the house. Very near Bamburgh but slightly too far to walk.

Perfect accommodation for our family holiday. We loved that you could see the beach from the front door (just a short walk across the road). Great communication from hosts, spacious, clean cottage with all amenities we required. Location was ideal for a short drive to Bamburgh and Seahouses. Lovely quiet seating area outside the cottage too.

Bamburgh under canvas was a delightful and a well located escape from the businesses of daily life. The views were spectacular and the Yurt was well thought thru with some little luxuries to enhance the holiday. Loved that we had a hot shower with complementary soap. We would definitely recommend Bamburgh under the canvas!

Great location as a base for visiting Bamburgh,Sea Houses and Cragside. Off road parking very welcome feature as was the wine and chocolates upon arrival. We ate out each night but the kitchen is ideal for self catering if required. All in all an ideal booking with good communications from the owner

My castle view room was absolutely beautiful and the bed super comfortable. I would've been reluctant to leave the hotel at all had Bamburgh not been so beautiful! Also, dinner and breakfast were lovely and both the service and atmosphere in the restaurant and bar were great.

It's all about the location. It's in Bamburgh, a spectacular setting. The castle, the beach, the islands. I think the hotel is as good as you can get for all of that. The staff and breakfast are lovely. The room Is just ok.

A well equipped, new, light and airy house. Outside decking and seating gave us a good view of the old quarry cliff face and the nesting birds. view of Bamburgh castle.
