Very disappointing.
Very disappointing. The room did not look like pictures at all. Neither did the outside. Just repainted room, very poorly....please do not pay painters for their work. Nothing on walls etc. to give one a welcome feeling. Paid for a king room with partial ocean view and fireplace.....not good...metal insert fireplace with paint drips dried on it and looked around a building which was not in any pictures to see ocean. Insult to injurY, after paying for this upgrade, the hall in which our room was located was a drop off for all the dirty laundry. Had to tip toe around it to get to our door. I was so throughly disgusted I was almost ready to leave but couldn’t get my money back!

The location was central to the popular fisherman's wharf and the old cannery row/monterey aquarium. For the money, this place can't be beat. It's an excellent value all around. I did all sightseeing on foot and by rented bike, so if you like to park and not deal with driving this hotel is a good choice for you. I'd stay here again for sure.

Hotel reception was very friendly and went out of his way to give us recommendations and services (prolonged parking, early check-in, good fare). The location is very nice - a 30min walk to Cannery Row, or 10min to the next free-of-charge trolley stop, which offered a round trip through downtown and Cannery Row! Area is safe and clean!

Just note that off-the-street garage parking is extra. Also, if you are looking for a nearby restaurant, I would strongly recommend The Sardine Factory, which serves excellent seafood.
