Botswana
Kingna Lodge is a stunningly decorated Victorian home on the main street of Montagu. Each room had its own charming bathroom and period furniture. The room has a heater and extra blanket, which is needed in autumn as it gets nippy in the evenings, plus the bed has a top sheet, always a nice touch. Loadshedding means no power but the rooms have long-life bulbs and the oil lamps in the hallway bring back the glory days of this magnificent house. John is an excellent host and will organise your evening dinner bookings – highly recommend the Montagu Country Hotel and The Victorian for dinner and the Rambling Rose for breakfast. If you ask John, he will give you a tour of the private rooms in the house and the history, including Nelson Mandela’s visit. Have a G&T in the bar or sit on the veranda and watch the sunset reflected off the mountains. John is an excellent host who sorts out little problems immediately.
De Bos Cottages

De Bos Cottages offers self-catering accommodation in the heart of Montagu. The farm has a seasonal outdoor pool and is 10 minutes' drive from the Montagu Springs.
The cottages at De Bos feature a seating area, kitchen facilities and a private bathroom. Each cottage has a patio area with BBQ.

The cottage we chose was quite spacious ideal for a couple. The scenery was absolutely amazing, the pool was lovely. I can definitely recommend this stay to anyone, the fresh air, peaceful, tranquility of nature. The kids will definitely love the animal's as well, big open spaces. Their small town has lovely little restaurants to try as well. Nice surrounding mountain places to drive to and have a picnic. They have the sweetest most friendliest dogs as well. We were welcomed with the most welcoming spirit.

Charles who took us out on the game drives was exceptionally knowledgeable about the animals as well as the flora and fauna., and we had closer viewings of 4 of the big 4. We only missed seeing a leopard. This was a stay that will leave a lifetime of memories.

The decision to make the fine dining experience with Bernhard was totally right, the food AND the wine was excellent. Thank you BTW for always keping the glasses full :-) The old rooms were still in very good shape and nicely equiped. The veranda towards the street was a nice location for the first dring as well as the garden for the last. Highly recommended!

It was peaceful & far away and well worth the 30km drive on the dirt road to get there! A particular highlight for our family was the 4x4 "Game Drive" with Monwa who agreed to take our family on a "non-standard" drive to get us as close to the bushmen paintings as possible! Very knowledgeable, very kind and caring! Would highly recommend the African Game lodge as your escape from the city to reconnect with nature!NinjaFamily with young children
