The hotel was perfectly situated for the lively old quarter and in particular the Rambla de Sant Josep, with its various cafes and attractions. Under a minute's walk to Liceu Metro station too, meaning it's only a few minutes from most destinations in the city. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful.

The only drawback we could think of was a lack of a TV in the room, but there is so much to do right on the doorstep, this really didn't matter. We would have preferred a double bed, but that might have been because we booked so late.

The most important properties of the hotel is location

Hostal Opera provides a good balance of cost and facilities/amenities. Very very central location is a strong plus and the staff is really helpful.

Very basic room. Seemed relatively clean but not to my standards.

The hostel is very close to subway and the street La Rambla. Just 100 meters to walk to both.

The beds are as usual very bad. The free internet was useless but it is very close to other internet cafe´s.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We have originally booked for 2 nights but ended up staying for 7. We had requested a quiet room and were successful with room 423. Room was clean, beds not uncomfortable with an adequate supply of towels, excellent value for money. Hotel staff were helpful and pleasant. An ideal location just off the Ramblas.

We could have had 2 bedside lights instead of the one and perhaps a change of curtains which were badly torn.

The hostal seems to be renovated, it is very clean, quite calm despite that fact that it very closed to the busy Rambla area. Very good location and the ratio price/value received.

The room was big, and the bathroom was clean. Very good location, with a metro just 200 yards away.

The reception staff were a bit rude, and not helpful, even after speaking to them in Spanish! The room was internal so it was quiet, but I imagine that rooms on the exterior, overlooking the street would have been noisy.
