although the hotel was basic, the central location, the cleanliness of the rooms and the friendliness of the staff made it an ideal place to stay in the heart of Madrid. possibly the absence of a bar, which would have been ideal for a "night cap" before retiring for the night. the other minor thing was that I had booked the "Romantic Getaway" which was to include complimentary chocolates and a bottle of cava, which failed to materialise. It was not important enough for me to make a fuss about it. |

It was clean, new furtniture and bathroom features, excellent location for those who want to walk to all city attractions... The walls are so thin, one can her people talking in the other room. Also, bathroom from another room sound as if in your own bedroom... |

Hotel was clean and location was perfect right by Plaza del Sol, no traffic other than garbage trucks and walking distance to art museums ( Thyssen was the best of them ), castle, park and resturants and shopping, and several metro stations just around the corner. PC and free web access in the room. A little noisey at night, not from traffic but from party people and garbage trucks. |

Breakfast was included when booked hotel. Staff originally tried to charge us extra but had taken confirmation printout which they honoured. Breakfast was V.good Room was advertised as a 'petit' room. Minute would have been a better description. Furniture was defintitely more ikea than designer.. |

Location was simply perfect. right next to where the action was for holiday goers. The rooms were very comfortable and having an internet connection was great. If only the staff could communicate more effectively in English, things would be perfect. Will definitely stay here again during our next visit to Spain A few English speaking staff for world travelers who do not know Spanish would have been just right. Not a complaint really, just a wish list. Must add, that the staff were polite and helpful in every way they could be. |

It was clean and quiet, very close to the underground and shooping facilities. Excellent service all around. I remember when we checked in that it took the receptionist a long time (about 15 minutes) to find our booking on his computer and he kept printing the wrong name and details. We were frustated at some point but kept quiet because he did not speak English. Maybe he was distracted by the other receptionist (older man) he was speaking with in Spanish the whole time while trying to find our reservation. |

very good location.200meters from a public parkplace and plaza del sol.laptop with free internet access in every room > this is simply excelent!!!! very good breakfast no car access and no direct parking.noisy at night but it's ok sice it's located in the center of the city. |

If you are looking for a central hotel at a reasonable price, then this one would be hard to beat. It is on the doorstep of a multitude of shops, cafes and restaurants, with lots of sights within walking distance. The room was a comfortable size (we also had a balcony), with a large bathroom and lovely shower! The staff were very friendly and accomodating - and I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking to do a city break in Madrid. |

The location while a little noisey is to be expected in the El Sol area, this is an older building whose strong selling point was it's internet availablity & computer's in every room. I wouldn't trust the computers for anything other than directions. The balconey overlooked 1 of the via, as requested .... I am suggesting this hotel for younger travelers ... |

The room was clean,the bedsheets were very clean,i could use the laptop & internet for free,a major plus point,the hotel was very close to the city centre so that we could just walk down to all the shops,restaurants,even to the main tourist spots.the staff at the front desk was very helpful & prompt. The tv only played audio,no video.the bulb near the dressing mirror was fused.it was expensive for the type of facilities provided.the check-in time is quite late,14:00 hrs.it should be 12:00 hrs.there was a peculiar smell in the bathroom.the room size was a bit small. |

Great location. Unfortunately the adjoining room noises could be heard very clearly, serious lack of sound proofing. The hotel should have a notice to encourage guests to curtail their noise levels during unsocialble hours as room 304 guests were so loud and even running down the corridors screaming till early hours of the morning. We were unable to have a decent night sleep throughout our stay. |

It was central to the two main plazas of Madrid that we visited. The picture of the shower was way different than the actual shower in the room. The hydro jets never worked, the door panel was falling out, the doors never shut tight and therefore the floor always got soaking wet. All the corners had mildew and mold built up. Soap was not left everyday. Room was not cleaned very well when we checked in. Garbage under the chair in the corner of the room. When we contacted the front desk about these issues they said they would look into them the next day, we never heard back from them. The hotel would not let us cancel the last morning continental breakfast as the airline changed our flight to a early morning flight. We were checked out before breakfast started. Paid for a meal we could not even get. |

1. Elevator door did not open on the 1-st floor - you have to use stairs down or up. 2. Replacing a bulb was impossible afetr technitian is gone (at ~7PM) , 3, Water slightly dripped from seiling in the bath room - impossible to fix at ~8 PM. 4. Monstrous spa shower is bad invention, hard to control, and it is useless. In the same time, but there is no curtain around normal usable bath and shower. |
