Hotel in Brae
Set in Brae, The Brae Hotel features a bar. The hotel offers both free WiFi and free private parking. At the hotel you will find a restaurant serving local cuisine. What a fantastic stay! Hotel is in a great location, rooms are extremely comfortable and reasonably priced! Meals are locally sourced and super tasty! Staff are great but the star of the show was a chap called Scott! His service was impeccable! So polite, always smiling and so handsome! A true gentleman.! A fantastic breakfast chef ( makes delicious scrambled eggs!!) breakfast was a great atmosphere listening to him singing away, what a voice!! , a real home from home! His service in the restaurant in the evenings was just the same, being so kind and attentive to everybody no matter how busy he was. And then to see him throughout the day attending to guests, cleaning, even weeding the hotel grounds! A fantastic all rounder and a true credit to the hotel. I will definitely be returning to the Brae hotel! A real hidden gem! Well done Scott and Curtis
Hotel in Hillswick
In the heart of Shetland, St Magnus Bay Hotel is set in beautiful, tranquil surroundings. It was once frequented by W. H. Auden and Christopher Isherwood, the poet and playwright. Everything. This is the first time in many years that I can say I loved everything: location, food, room and above all the people. They are kind, friendly and keen to look after you. As this was my solo trip abd without car, I was apprenhensive that I may not be able to see things around. But Andrea made sure I do. Wilma took me to Eshaness and Stenness in her car and oh, what a place. Breathtaking. We also went to the fire festival which was held for the Tall ships race and experienced the Vikings in full swing. Shetland and mote specifically St. Magnus made my stay worthwhile. Thank you so much.

Hotel in Lerwick
Offering free WiFi throughout the property, Queens Hotel is set in Lerwick, within a few steps of Bain's Beach. The nearest airport is Sumburgh Airport, 42 km from the hotel. It is perfectly situated. This grand beautiful historic building is being renovated by the present owners. I had a room with a sea view which was magnificent. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. I loved the towel warmer and excellent water pressure in the shower. The staff were amazing. Sam, the owner’s son, went above the call of duty to provide towels and vacuum the sand I tracked into the room. Harvey, the owner, was fantastic! He even gave me a ride to the bus station. If you are interested in historic preservation this is the hotel for you. It sits actually into the sea next to Bain’s Beach. I had a fabulous week at the Queens Hotel.

Lerwick
Set in Lerwick, 600 metres from Bain's Beach, Islesburgh House Hostel offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a restaurant. Very nice staff, welcoming, helpful and friendly! I have nothing to say about the cleanliness, everything was perfect! The kitchen is huge and really well-equiped (like all the facilities of this hostel!). Showers and toilets are in your room, which is very pratical (and there’s more along the corridor). Reception is open at every hour (if there’s nobody, you just have to go to the Isleburgh community centre next door), you can store your luggage. I am pretty sure I’ll stay again in this hostel!!

Lerwick
Pleasantly surprised that keeping rooms warm is a thing in the Shetlands. Warm room, simple but hot reliable shower. Very nice. It's not like a modern hotel but felt cozy. Like staying at your Gran's but better. Breakfast was lovely and so was the lady who serves it. She gave us lots of nice conversation and helpful advise. I also like that the other tourists who stay here are totally not like the brits you find in Alicante The breakfast area is a place to hear interesting stories and pick up tips of where to go.
Lerwick
I stayed at Craigielea Apartment 3 for 5 nights with my husband and dog. It was a perfect base for exploring Shetland and conveniently located close to the ferry terminal, shops and restaurants in Lerwick. Lerwick is a lovely town - one of the prettiest and most charming in Scotland. The apartment is really stylish, comfortable and well-equipped. It’s also super cosy, if the weather takes a turn for the worst outside. I can’t recommend the place more highly. The owners were lovely too, very helpful and friendly.
The Grand Hotel is just that, a grand old hotel in the centre of Lerwick, currently undergoing an extensive renovation to restore it back to it's former glory, no works were going on at odd times of day and it was nice and peaceful come night time. Harvey couldn't have been more welcoming or helpful. Nothing was too much trouble at all. It was the perfect base for time back in Shetland, I'll definitely be back to keep up to date with the renovations the next time I'm home.
Busta house is a lovely building, historic, quirky and well presented. We’d had a strange introduction to Shetland Hotels with our previous hotel in Lerwick but Busta House more than made up for it. This was achieved by the constant good humour, charm and efficiency of all the staff we met. They even managed to fulfil a busy Friday night service with aplomb. Our dog was made welcome and enjoyed snoofling about the garden and snoozing in the lovely bedroom.
Lerwick
Everyone who works at the Islesburgh House Hostel was so welcoming and friendly, they really made our stay that much better. The building was immaculate, very convenient to get to and so fun to stay in, it had a very homely vibe. We'd definitely come back again, it's a great place to stay while you're exploring Shetland, and really easy to get to from the ferry!
If you know you know! This is gem in the Shetlands. Do ‘t let the plain outwardly appearance of this hotel fool you. Inside it’s delightful, with clean, modern rooms , comfortable beds and excellent cooking. with the hosts extremely friendly and welcoming. The best seafood and Lobster around ! There is also an extensive whisky bar!
Queen's Hotel is one of the Lerwick lodberries being a building protruding out into the harbour. Room 229 is on the top floor looking out over Bressay Sound to the east. If you follow the TV series Shetland the view to the south is over Bain’s Beach to the house of Jimmy Perez just 50 metres away.
Lerwick
The host was very friendly and helpful. We were allowed to drop off our luggage before the check-in and were allowed to leave the luggage inside until we left Shetland. Also the apartment was modern and had all the equipment we needed for cooking. The TV had Netflix as well and the WIFI was really good.
A very well appointed clean and bright apartment. The welcome pack was very good and very welcome, it introduced me to Shetland butter and I bought more to bring home with me. Good location overlooking the park on a quiet street but very handy for everything and only a few minutes walk into the centre.
Hamnavoe
Everything. David was very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. He was full of information about the history of Shetland and places to see and a great guy to talk to. Sylvia, his wife, is a lovely lady. The apartment has everything you need to enjoy your stay in Shetland. Highly recommend.
Lerwick
Excellent comfortable, well-appointed apartment in great location. Walking distance from harbour, museums, ferry, town centre, music pub. Well equipped and very convenient- a great base for Lerwick and Shetland sights.

Lovely, comfortable and clean hotel with kind and helpful staff. The restaurant was also quite good. We felt taken care of and had everything we needed for our arrival on Shetland.
Sandwick
Lovely apartment and hospitable owners, nice and clean, comfy and well equipped. Great location for all trips around Shetlands. We loved it and would love to come back there
Hotel empty apart from us pretty well . Andrea made us so welcome and stayed chatting to us . We learned so much about Shetland ways
The Shetland Hotel had a great breakfast, friendly staff and is in a good location. The refillable biscuits were also a nice touch.
Quite basic but clean hotel with a small bar, right in the centre of Brae. Good starting point to explore (northern) Shetland
Very cosy, spotlessly clean, good hot shower.
