Lovely little town in a beautiful part of Oregon. I haven’t been there in many years. It has grown up! Nice restaurants, most of the major stores I am used to seeing in Portland...Freddie’s, Walgreen, etc. it’s a great town. Relaxed pace and beauty all around. I love the way the air smells in Central Oregon!
It's a fun experience to be on the coast of Oregon from Astoria down to cannon beach. next year making a little further to explore sea lion caves and hot spring but never forget the trips to seaside amazing every time find new thing to do every time we go down from blast from the past photos to the whole prom it's fun to much to mention just make it a must to go see seaside.
Roseburg is one of my favorite places in Oregon. Moderate climate, not too rainy, very little snow, and not too blazing hot. It has a mall, a Costco, many, many restaurants and hotels. Town is about 30-35,000 people and runs right along the Umpqua River. Several nice shady parks, ckean street, nice neighborhoods and friendly people. Very clean, great air quality. Within a 20 mile radius, there are lots of great fishing areas. I was near Glide, a little surrounding town, and there were some very good river fishing areas. Lots of trees, rolling hills, usually very green. The roads to get to fishing areas are amazingly good. Rosebug is very easy to navigate. I get lost everywhere, but I was able to find my way around pretty easily. I saw deer, wlid turkeys and lots of fish.
Took care of family business. I know the city very well. It's growing. Roads seemed to be expanding more shopping and stores for convenience but still maintain the same southern Oregon charm. Beautiful scenery, hiking, rivers, and slow peace lifestyle.
Beautiful city with wonderful city tour ,mt Hood tour, and breath taking views of Oregon cost line tour. Use the Hub World Tour Company. They were just awesome. Every tour was great! Portland International test rose garden and the Pittock mansion are two must visit places. The only thing sad about Portland is the amount of homeless people on the street.
There are lots of attractions around downtown Eugene and at the University of Oregon. It was a little shocking to see so many homeless people, young and old, in the heart of downtown. However, they didn’t seem to bother anyone. They were in their own little world.
Driftwood shores motel is off the highway, quiet and on a wonderful beach. Florence has a quaint old town section as well as many new shopping options. My preferred town on the Oregon coast.
Lincoln city is the beach. There's also chinook winds casino in town with access to the beach. The whole area up down hwy 101 is worth exploring. You can stand on the cliffs overlooking the ocean and watch whales feeding close to shore as the migrate north. Lincoln city is a great beach town, but if you limit yourself to just staying there and not exploring what other beach towns have to offer, then your really missing out on the whole oregon beach experience.
Dinner at Portland City Grill was nice but over priced. Downtown area has litter everywhere. Portland has a serious homeless problem and if not resolved will effect the city's image in a major way. Grew up in Oregon and have been to Portland many times and enjoyed visiting and seeing what the city has to offer but no more. Portland has changed in major ways and not for the better. Have family that have lived there for years and they agree.
My husband and I enjoy Seaside it's like going home. It's sad to see so many empty store fronts. I wish there was a better seafood restraunt with a crab boil to order. Also, you need a better breakfast restraunt. Seaside is perfectly located. We love traveling up and down the Oregon and Washington Coast.
We were actually given a choice of floors and by suggestion choose the top floor (4th), which we were very happy with. The beds are large and comfortable. The room was clean and we actually had a view of the bridge from our window. The ocean is not viewable from the Hotel. The hotel is very close to the Oregon Aquarium though it would still be a long walk. We drove and given it was a week day there was plenty of parking available. There is a tourist shopping area just behind the hotel that is easy walking that is enjoyable.
This was the absolut surprise on our trip through Oregon… Hotel and staff just wonderful but the restaurant was exceeding everything 👍 Amazing food presented by an extraordinary chef cook. Best steak we ever had ( in years!!) and a homemade Bolognese with fresh herbs … original Italian. Service was outstanding, the waitress was the friendliest person and very dedicated to her job. Hopefully everyone gets the chance to stop by and meet this wonderful place to be and to meet and talk to the chef 😊
Staff was friendly, room was clean and the hotel was in a great location downtown. I didn't spend much time in my room or at the hotel in general, but everything was great. I got an egg sandwich to go and wasn't expecting too much other than for it to hit the spot for the drive home and it was fantastic! I appreciate that they start serving coffee and breakfast at 6:00 a.m. I also like the theme of the hotel - and ode to the history of the University of Oregon.
My dog and I were stranded due to weather closing the freeway. I was able to make reservations and get a room within a few minutes. The staff was very accommodating. They even had toiletries to give me as I had nothing with me. It’s a beautiful hotel. Sitting in the restaurant for breakfast, it felt like I was at an island destination instead of in Southern Oregon. The room was clean and beautifully decorated.
Seaside
If you want a nice place to stay that has some character, this is the place for you. This is a local hotel with a great owner interested in making your stay exceptional. If you want the chain hotel with no character, stay there. The owner gave us great local recommendations for food as well as sights to see and ones to avoid. It was a great place for a night on a two day trip to the Oregon coast.
Very pleased with the property and staff. Just a few steps to the reason we travel to Oregon coast, the beach. We will be back. The convenient location, balcony and room amenities. We particularly like hotel rooms that offer the option to watch television or drink our a.m. coffee on, other than the bed or straight back chairs. The futon sofa and chairs on the balcony provided that option.
Hampton Inn Redmond Oregon location is within minutes of where our family lives. Staff are knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating. Hotel is super clean with more than adequate parking. Breakfast buffet offers delicious hot foods and is well stocked with a variety of beverages, fruit, yogurt, pastries, etc. We will definitely be staying at this same location in the future.
Rockaway Beach
As a frequent visitor to our beloved Oregon beaches......Great price for beachfront! Couldn't be happier with the apartment. Our host was available for any questions, which was only about WIFI password...I could have very well overlooked that in the communications. They should put it on the fridge or something just to be handier. Overall, I was very happy.
Huge rooms. Very few people in this huge complex. Good part of town to stay. Best hotel value in town! Hotels downtown are all funky. Eat dinner and lunch at The Oregon Grain Growers Distillery Restaurant downtown. Great food and drinks!!! No breakfast when we were there. But Denny's was very good believe it or not. Museum is good.
Seaside
Liked the staff at the desk. Friendly and helpful! The room was not as nice as expected, given we stayed for a week and expected "room with a view," meaning frontside room facing beach. Liked the location of the hotel otherwise. Beds, in all honesty, need better mattresses! Still, it was Oregon and oceanside.
The location was perfect. Less than 5 minutes to the Oregon Aquarium! The staff was so friendly. Breakfast was impressive for a hotel. Pool and hot tub were clean and such a big hit with my grandsons! Across the street is a great restaurant and chocolate/gift shop! So nice to have it all so walkable!
I thought $400 a night was absurd for the quality of the room and breakfast. All of my other hotels in Oregon were $250-350. Definitely not worth $900 for two rooms for 1 night. Rooms smelled musty, breakfast was minimal. Location was the one bonus and the desk personnel were nice
This was the one of the most unique hotels i have had the pleasure of staying at. The history of the building and the abstract "wonderland" decor was throughout amazing. I was an experience to stay at the Portland Oregon Royal Sonesta.
The location is fantastic for the University of Oregon (slightly further from downtown Portland). Room was fine - spacious and with all the amenities and more you would expect in a budget hotel. Some wonderful walks across the river.
We always love staying at this hotel as we travel to and from southern Oregon. It's about half way between our home and where our family lives. The rooms are very spacious and we love having a room with a view of the lake.
Everything! The best hotel since I've been on the PCT trail! Bicycles were fantastic to get around to do my errands for my hike. Even got into my room 2 hrs. early!! Absolutely the best hotel in Bend, Oregon.
This hotel is in a great location. You are able to access many restaurants and shopping places. We were not familiar with the area but it was easy to get around and it wasn't far form the University of Oregon.
Right downtown, near great brewery, Fort George, but not noise. Charming old hotel refurnished. Boutique Hotel. Norblad Hotel was built in the 1920’s by Albin W. Norblad who was later a governor of Oregon.
My family and I were meeting halfway in Lincoln City to have an Oregon coast adventure. The beds were comfortable and we slept well. The room was clean, the staff were friendly. The location is great.
Everything. We stayed at 6 hotels on our trip on the Oregon Coast and we liked them all but this was the best! Great location, great staff, fabulous amenities and a good breakfast in the morning.
