Cove 55 is a luxurious private boutique hotel at the foot of Mount Santubong, an undiscovered paradise near Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia.

Built originally as a private home for an Iban family, the sprawling property is now reborn as an intimate retreat with 13 rooms, 2 suites and 13 villas. It offers an infinity pool facing the South China Sea, Pool Bar, fully equipped Fitness Centre and free Wi-Fi access in its public areas.

Nearby we visited permai rainforest resort, which was amazing for it's closeness to the forest and tree cabins, The culvert, where you sleep in drain pipes which was so so, but Cove 55 is another level. luxurious. staff is amazing. The kitchen is absolutely another level and worth a visit alone. 'Real' cocktails.. as if the only bartender in Borneo who knows anything about it works here. A real fitness with material that works. Bit pricier then the others but you absolutely get what you pay for.

It was a very unique accommodation with basic facilities. Thank whole area is very clean as the staff kept it clean all the time. We were expected to take off our shoes/sandals/slippers at selected places within the resort. You can rest assured that the pool is very clean as the gardener or uncle keeps it clean every single morning. Not only he cleans the pool but the surrounding area too. If you like a quiet place for rejuvenating and don't mind the weather, this is a good place to be for few days.

Pure tranquility and the cultural Village nearby was great. Nice beach bar lovely staff. They sold real wine. I was volunteering in the jungle with Orangutans and sun bears so this break was sheer bliss. My room was lovely as was my balcony. Bit far from my main hotel but excellent hotel bus service and you can walk downhill to resort by stairs easily.
