Facing the seafront in Kota Belud, Bigfin beach resort features a private beach area. Offering a restaurant, the property also has a garden. The property provides sea views and a terrace. Feels like a hidden gem and private paradise. Great dive shop with charismatic guides, nice boat, sufficient equipment. Great to wake up to a view of Mt Kinabalu and all the food was really lovely home cooking and tasted great. It felt like living in a little community for a couple of days :)

Set amidst a nature reserve overlooking the South China Sea, Shangri-La Rasa Ria, Kota Kinabalu features relaxing stays in elegantly furnished guest rooms. the ocean wing was spectacular! the staff were fairly familiar with dietary needs (gluten free specifically) and accommodated well. the staff also gave us a to-go breakfast box because we had to check out before the delicious breakfast. the ocean wing is well worth booking, it felt less busy than the other wing. loads of activities to keep any traveler busy.

Penny and Zaid super nice people taking super good care of you! far from Semporna, surrounded by nature and calm, they offer free jetty to town. the owner has built something remarkable in its simplicity and authenticity but still with tons of thoughtful details. he also cooks well!!! we hope to come back in the future to see how Timba will evolve, but we are sure this place will become even more fantastic than what it is today.

Tremendous breakfast in terms of quality and choice of food. The staff were amazing. The swimming pool was awesome as was the private beach with the turtle talk. The setting was perfect for utter relaxation.
