Owned by the Kenyan Red Cross. The hotel, now called the Boma Inn was on a secure complex with a larger sister hotel which had an excellent gym, steam and sauna, pool and spa facilities which we could use. The breakfast was good. The gardens and grounds were well maintained and great to sit and relax in. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming.
There was a small shopping mal nearby with a good supermarket.
The evening meals were limited in choice although there was a greater selection at the sister hotel. There needed to be more evening entertainment, I.e. Local musicians to create an atmosphere.
- Close to the airport,
- no problem with cab booking,
- friendly staff, but their friendliness is not always transferring into good service - see what I did not like
- I waited for check in approx. 30Min, as there was a group (10-12
people) checking in before me. There was only 1 person in reception.
Explanation was - that it is Saturday. After 24hours flight - not much
- I made a clear warning at the reception, that I am tired and do not want to be disturbed with calls. 15 minutes later I received a phone call from customers service, asking if I settled well and all my wishes/requests are followed - clearly there is a need to improve on communication within staff.
Courteous staff / cleaniness / and not too crowded place .
no much choice on food variety
This is really nice hotel with friendly staff but little outside from the city center. But no doubt very near to Airport.
Hotel is now called the Boma Inn (right next door to The Boma) which threw me a bit. Staff were very friendly, and always tried to help out.
The staff at reception were excellent, the hotel is very close to the airport so was convenient for my very early flight.
The room was clean but not highly luxurious, however for one night it was fine.
