Went to a wedding near by and just wanted somewhere to sleep nice clean room bar was open till 2:00am so we were able to have night cap before settling down for the night

Easy process and convenient


The pillows were very uncomfortable and, although there was a note to say they could be changed, I did not see that until after midnight. There is no substitute for a good night's sleep.

Room was clean and beds were comfortable.


Family rooms are located directly above the smoking shelter, it was after 00:30 before the crowd outside settled down long enough to allow me to get to sleep. Then at 03:00 the 3 people in the room next to us returned from there night out, shouting and banging around. They woke myself and my wife but fortunately not our children, they did however wake another baby on the floor, after I knocked their door and spoke to them they did settle down but it was another hour before the poor family with the baby manged to get settled. Upon arriving for breakfast in the morning none of the staff seemed interested in engaging with us and we were left to find our own table, the breakfast itself was of poor quality and the staff were slow to replenish the buffet. Upon checking out I informed the duty manager, Mel(?), about my dissatisfaction about the location of the room and the problem I had with the other guests. I was offered scant apology and informed that we were in that room as that is the location of the family rooms. To me it seems ridiculous to locate a young family who have spent over 5 hours travelling in a room directly above a busy smoking shelter in a hotel with a bar. I was offered a refund for the £28 I had paid for breakfast but i was told that as i had paid for the room through Booking.com I could not be offered a discount on the room. Overall i was left very disappointed by my lack of sleep and the attitude of the staff towards this.

The woman on reception was exceptionally helpful.


The location is a little isolated.
