Every thing ..
The hotel is very faaaaaaaaaar , no restaurants near exceptthe hotels restaurants.
No supermarkets near ..
Staff dedication, superior service that has no comparison in Malaysia, deluxe rooms, everything really.
This hotel well deserves to belong to the Leading Hotels of the World Group - it is truly outstanding and the spa is like heaven. Service is remarkable in every department and all the food is fantastic - I had the best Thai food I've ever eaten, including in some of the best restaurants in Thailand. It is not inexpensive, but for a special break it is truly worth every single penny.
A weekend of absolute luxury. This is not a hotel for someone who wants lots going on, but as a place to relax, it is fabulous.
For a chance to really experience the jungle and the wildlife of the rain forest it's a one off opportunity.
When we visited, the hotel was nearly full, but it was always possible to find a quiet place to sit and read or just watch the sea.
Nothing to do with the hotel, but before we left we booked a mangrove river tour that involved feeding eagles. It wasn't until we got to the Datai that we found out (from the hotel's very knowledgeable naturalist) that this practice is very damaging to the lives of the eagles, who are becoming generation by generation very dependant on human interaction. I'm sure most of the tourists who book these trips have no idea and would be appalled if they knew that what they were doing was so harmful - avoid!
Sport facilities, Staff, Restaurants, the jungle
Fantastic stay, such a peaceful place, excellent spa
A little boring for kids
Beautiful surroundings, private beach, abundance of wildlife, the hotel is situated in a rain forest area, so beware of the monkeys raiding your balcony - but it's all part of the fun. Customer service is excellent, especially the lads in the beach bar...can't do enough for you, we had a villa in the rain forest and they have a cool buggy service to anywhere
It's cut off from the nearest town, so be prepared to travel a while to get anywhere, the tourist attractions on Langkawi are limited and fairly tame - there are 3 restaurants in the hotel but they are very expensive
Nice hitel, nice area
Rooms open to the outside, mosquitos in the night if windows or door open
nothing - if i have to pick something then it wll b the view only!
the staff 'not all' dont have sense of humour, some dont even bother to smile and talk to u, and some were very rude especially the lady working in the indian restaurant - the welcoming at the time of arrival was so poor not as per expected from a 5 star hotel - the hotel is not worth the price, its very much overpriced!! .. the room looked awful and dirty with lots of bugs evrywhere especially on the shelf on the side of the bed.. the food collection was not impressing aswell, not as per expectation, i even got food poisoned either from the thai rest or frm the rest by the pool near the beach .. tv channels are very limited.. very disappointing would never go back there, not recommended at all!! .. one last thing, due to emergency i had to shortened my stay by one night and asked the management of the hotel if its possible to refund however the manager refused without further explanation - not customer oriented, i dont think the management are qualified for the job.. in my experiance ive visited almost all asian countries but the experiance with this hotel is the worst especialy in term of hospitality
Scenery, luxury, nearby golf course, beach house
Monkey entering our room
