It was peaceful, in a very busy tourist area. Feeding the badgers was extra special.

That its being made over next week.

Location was very good and no problem parking. Apartment was adequate for our purpose and comfortable. Certainly value for money.

Outside apartment could have been a bit tidier. Would have loved to take a brush and sweep the pathways. Also, speed bumps in the driveway are to me, unnecessary, particularly the one nearest to the hotel. Grounded the underside of the car but no serious damage.

The location is excellent. Great walks on your doorstep. It is an easy walk into Grasmere which is a lovely village with a range of good places to eat. We ate at Forest Side on our first night. The food was simple and there was plenty of it. The nightly badger feeding was the highlight for us. Pedro was a very friendly and obliging host who made our stay very pleasant.

The lounge area including the wild life.

Shower curtain in the apartment and WiFi issues, no connection.

Quirky, friendly hotel where they feed the badgers in the evening for all to see. Proximity to Grasmere and the Lakes.

Food in the hotel very average, bathrooms not great in room - poor shower, not good after long walks. Hotel is being renovated - it needs it and will be amazing.

Relaxed and informal atmosphere. Good breakfasts, lovely grounds including badgers.

The curtains did not block out the light at all.

Excellent location and for the price the basic rooms are very reasonable a good place for single travelers to explore the Lakes. Good breakfast.Drying room for wet stuff. Cosy Victorian hotel with pleasant relaxing grounds and at dusk badgers come to feed on the scraps of food put out for them by the hotel staff.

Cheapest rooms are not ensuite but at quiet times you may find you are the only one using the shared facilities. For the price there has to be some catch but when I visited it really wasn't a problem.
