I loved the fact I could come and go as I pleased. Beautiful views. Ease of access. Friendliness of owner. Breakfast choice. Sea view from window. Decor is in need of an update and the window in my room needs fixing, other than that no complaints at all. |

the location The sheets in two rooms were stained with yellow stains, this was not water! The sheets were changed but again later on were found several other stains on the sheets, pillows, and duvet. The shower in one room was hot one minute then cold the next, No cards could be used for payment (cash only) DO NOT USE THIS HOTEL look at the other reviews. We are thinking of reporting this place to the local Devon Health Enviroment |

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay here! If you are more confortable in a highly polished chain hotel, or even a travel lodge, you won't find one in Dawlish anyway; this place had a lovely, crumbling facade, gorgeous gloomy twisty corridors like a Disney haunted hotel, our room was huge and very confortable with two big sofas and a nice big telly, we really liked the decor - it was 'vintage' - I realise this may not appeal to everyone, but considering it was the cheapest place in Dawlish and right on the seafront, just a windblown stroll away from shops, takeaways, the train station and the coastal path to Teignmouth, we thought it represented great value for money. We didn't try the breakfast, as there are plenty of places to eat in Dawlish which are probably better value, but there was one member of staff (owner?) there who we saw and she was lovely and friendly. The wifi actually did not extend to our room, dissapointing until we realised we could get unlimited internet access using bt Openzone, which had a very strong signal! They only took cash, so we had to plan to have enough money on us. Dawlish itself is really pretty but there is not a lot to do....... |

It suited our purpose for a quiet weekend break, we weren't looking for anything expensive and being in the town meant that we didn't have to use the car for every single journey that we made. |

Room was basic, but clean. It was situated on the road overlooking the beach and the sea. The hotel is extremely shabby and is in need of complete moderisation and decoration throughout. In the bedroom, the 1980's floral wallpaper had large sections ripped off and none of the furniture matched. The wardrobes doors did not shut properly and the wood was chipped and stained. There was no colour co-ordination, the wallpaper was green, sofa was blue and the bedspread was purple. The hotel was more in keeping with a hostel where homeless people are housed until council housing becomes available. The family room was extremely cramped with very little room to move, due to large bunk beds. For this we paid £100 for one night with breakfast being an additional cost. There was only one member staff and due to this the cooked breakfast was off the menu. Would not go to thsi hotel again and was glad that we had only booked for one night.I dont think the description of the Hotel was a true reflection. |
