The proximity to all the facilities in Barnsley, includiing the Old Number 7, my old haunt in my youth! Now an excellent real ale pub! Romano's Italian restaurant, great food, cooked to order. A short drive , takes you to Stainborough castle or Wentworth, and the hotel itself has very polite and friendly reception staff. The cleaners do an excellent job and they are also pleasant.
Breakfasts are expensive - but we ate at the local cafes in Barnsley instead for half the price.
As we arrived early the staff provided a room to change. we attended the remembrance service and came back to a excellent meal. The staff were very helpfull and kind
Having to get up early to pay the car parking.
Fantastic staff, clean rooms, spacious, great bar area
quicker service in bar would be beneficial.
Breakfast was a disaster so much so we were refunded
Comfortable and clean.
Quad room (for families) located right next to the lift so each time the lift was called it pinged unusually loudly throughout the night and although signs are up on the doors to advertise 'quiet time' during the hours of 10pm and 7am we were the only guests who seemed to observe this. People coming back to their rooms in the early hours were the most inconsiderate. As a family I would have much preferred to walk down a long corridor to a quieter room than to be disturbed so often during the night.
The friendly staff
Paying for Wi-Fi
staff are very friendly, nice food, clean rooms comfy beds, thou its inside the town but it was so quite.
Restaurant way overpriced for lower quality of food. Average meal should have been £7.50. Wifi should not be chargeable as it is very poor service and most other hotels do not charge. Breakfast was not worth the price.
As a family of 5 we were impressed with the adjoining rooms.
Price of breakfast!!!!!!
did not like the full breakfast, it was swimming in oil, had to use a napkin to soaked some of the grease of the plate, spoiled the experience some what.
