The manager was particularly helpful. The room was adequate and comfortable. The building was tired. The area is quite run down. Very few vegetables were offered with evening meal. |

Good location - opposite zoo and close to town. Beds comfortable. Although friendly, breakfast seemed a bit haphazard ie no cups, orange juice etc and worst of all beans only luke warm. |

The breakfast was good. My evening meal was good. Waitress was good to a point. My traveling companion's steak was inedible. Waitress asked if everything was ok. I said my meal was good but my friend's steak very tough she seemed no t to hear. Management said we hadn't complained until the bill was brought and they could do little about it. Gave us a small discount, but this was very unsatisfactory. There was no hairdryer in the room. Good job I took my own. The available socket however was nowhere near the mirror. The biggest gripe was the fact that doors were against us trying to negotiate suitcases etc was very difficult,Lift rather small and the gate did not click shut which was unnerving. It stopped very suddenly after a fast ride. A porter would have been a help. Several stairs to negotiate after the lift. No good for a 70+ year old, with a bad back. The shower did not work and the bathroom smelt. Domestos needed down sinks and other orifices. That and the traffic noise into the early hours meant a poor night's sleep. People standing outside making a great deal of noise. Double glazing a must. We will not recommend this hotel, and definately will not stay there again. |
