My wife is coeliac, which we had advised the hotel about. We have found in the past that many hotels do not understand what that entails. The Black Bull, however, laid on gluten-free sausages and gluten free bread which they toasted in a dedicated toaster.

We had done a hard days walking and had stayed on a campsite the day before so it felt like an oasis. Very comfortable, generously sized room. Extremely friendly and genuine staff. Good breakfast, amazing value

Good location in centre of Wooler

Church clock chimes throughout the night. Check in was very slow but the pub was busy with only one staff member.

Efficient friendly staff Well appointed room.....great to have a bath as we were doing St Cuthbert's Way. Very generous evening meal...lamb shank.....enough for two people!

A little noisy outside on the Friday night......room at front of hotel so probably to be expected. Not a proper shower which might be a minus for some people
