Very clean spacious rooms full of character. Good food served in bar. Missed breakfast because of an early start.
Rooms not soundproofed enough. Could hear next door talking through wall (they weren't being loud). Hot water fm both taps in bathroom.
Looking out down the river
No mention of parking on site ... And a charge incurred.
The place is very quirky with a lovely garden outside surrounded by water.
The room was very noisy, when some in the room above ran a tap it sounded like there was a waterfall above my head. When anyone used the stairs is was very loud. I believe they are due to be renovated soon.
Atmosphere was great, I was on business trip, there was a quiz night on in the restaurant bar area which felt homely, the food was quickly prepared and excellent, also good range of beers and ciders, staff are really helpful and service was great.
I watched world cup football on the big screen near the bar.
Only 2 points, The window in room 5 is high level, so no view outside, but this is because the building is some 500 years old, charachter and design of the building is quite special.
Other point is I could not find a hair dryer, new staff recently taken over this Inn and they are finding their feet, and doing a good job to improve the place.
The place had a charming character. Staff were very helpful & friendly.
Beautiful beer garden at the rear.
Availibility of parking.
The position of the Hotel was great for our needs. Clean, good atmosphere, food good and room a good size. Also had a nice area outside next to the river with plenty of seating.
Only car park is opposite and you have to pay, the room was let down by the noise from room above. When guests in that room used the toilet and the bath, everything was heard in our room as the waste pipes ran thru the room instead of outside. With this in mind we thought the room rate rather high.
Friendly staff and very helpful
Good staff, lovely hotel, good meals & good ale.Very picturesque setting on the riverbank.
Hotel couldn't find the booking, luckily they had a spare room.
Lovely location and the best cooked breakfast I've had for years
Staff were a little uninterested
Great location, a five minute walk by the river & you were in the town centre. Lovely 18th Century (extended sympathetically) inn. The hotel rooms were lovely, full of character, even had original beams in the bathroom, but really large comfy rooms with all modern conveniences. The food in the inn itself was tasty & plentiful, breakfast was served in the "Mill Room" and superb. Staff all helpful & friendly Highly recommendable.
