The Runnymede-On-Thames

Lovely stay from beginning to end. Receptionists very friendly and professional. Comfortable room, small but with all amenities we needed. We used the pool, sauna and steam. All of which were well maintained and very nice. 5/5 we would come back.

Food was good and I enjoyed sitting outside in the sunshine

I did not like the rooms (146 and 148) I took two members of my family for an overnight stay with dinner and breakfast, the rooms were too small, including the bathroom. When I took other members of my family last year the rooms were much better, I have always requested river view rooms and assumed all the rooms were the same.

My wife and I stayed at the Runnymede on Thames as part of her birthday weekend. I found the staff very willing and able to help with little preparations I needed or to help with information etc in advance of the stay. I must admit as we arrived the hotel seemed to be larger than I had imagined and I feared that any personal touch would be lost. It wasn’T. We were very quickly and efficiently helped at the front desk and a member of staff offered to store our bags until our room was ready and then take them up as we were out for the afternoon. I had arranged a couple of suyprises for my wife and they respected this and were very craeful not to mention them while my wife was there. We hired the hotels private boat for a couple of hours in the afternoon and the man at guest relations who helped us with the paperwork and sorting the boat out, and also obtaining a couple of extra bits for the picnic we needed, which was lovely by the way. Now the boat and picnic are not cheap but if you are blessed with good weather was we were, it was a total joy to sail up river to a nice riverside pub near Staines.. We had a riverside room on the first floor which was smart and tastefully decorated, a little cramped around the end of the bed I guess but we would use it again so that tells you how little an irritant it was, with lovely views over the Thames. Breakfast next morning was the most expansive we have seen, three different types of sausage, all your usual hot cooked stuff plus most things like omelettes cooked to order, loads of baked stuff, fruit etc.. perfect set up for the day Its true the hotel is ideally situated for Heathrow and the m25 though neither proved to be any kind of annoyance. Using local taxis we were in Windsor for £13, parking there is not cheap nor easy so I’d recommend Taxis. I would have no hesitation in staying here again should I be in this area and I would highly recommend it to anyone.

Stayed in standard double room river view, bed uncomfortable, size of room and bathroom was ridiculous for the price, food drinks overpriced no volume on tv in lobby to watch England v Wales rugby very disappointed went into Egham to the Crown Pub £5.00 taxi great food and drinks fraction of the price recommended.
