The service by your barman, and number of staff in the breakfast room.

The staff are welcoming and attentive. The ambiance is excellent. The food has improved greatly over the 6 years during which we have stayed there. We ate in most nights.

The cleaning of the shower outlet was clearly not done thoroughly and I removed and cleaned it myself.

Bed was very comfortable. Decor thoughtful. Long drag up to room with no offer of assistance. Shower utterly pathetic - 15 minutes to fill the bath as an alternative to trying to shower under drops.

Helpful staff; nice service. Plenty of hot water, and comfortable bed.

Paying for the car park.

Booking problems in advance, rectified by, then again on arrival. Garden room looked out to a brick wall! Thick duvet only, no sheets in July until we made special request. Lightbulbs not working in bedside light, requested it be sorted while we were out, but not done. Bathroom - shower pressure low, had to wait to get hot water through. No air conditioning, poor ventilation. Ladies please note: no hairdryer in room and no spare power sockets to charge phone etc, unless you unplug tv. Minibar/fridge ... but it was empty. All in all, potentially it could have been good but they don't pay attention to detail.

Friendly staff, comfortable room, quiet location - good break at end of working day

Service at breakfast on first morning was very slow but the food was excellent. On 2nd morning service was quicker but food not as well cooked.

Breakfast was adequate.

The room looked tired and old. Very worn carpet. Wifi signal was very poor

Nothing to like - save for town centre location

1. Very small room, badly configured, so limited features and hard to move around 2. Bedroom overlooking street has no [cafe] net curtains at windows - we verified that clients of pub opposite can see into room 3. Room not clean - large cobwebs at window, toilet brush holder filled with black slime 4. No full length mirror 5. Dressing table very small - doubles as breakfast bar - and mirror over too high for make up etc 6. No curtain at bathroom window [faces street too] has an over-sized net curtain not properly hung 7. Ensuite has towel space for towels for only one guest; remainder have to be placed on window ledge 8. Room furniture cheap and dilapidated - parts missing 9. Wash basin undersized - too small to be able to properly fill kettle for hot drinks + Hard to wash face 10. No space to keep suitcase[s] 11. Room fridge located on floor inside of wardrobe - hard to access as wardrobe doors only open 90 degrees and is unusually small and very low down 12. Shower thermostat did not work 13. Steps down from shower lack a safety colour-contrast strip to lip. We both 'tumbled' off the difficult to see step edge 14. Poor value for money and quality of room compared to standards of nation budget hotel chains - room cost between 2 and 3 times as much

Very quirky interior, loads of character, extremely clean. Parking at a very reasonable rate. Would not hesitate to book there again.

The room was very hot no air-conditioning.
