Staff was wonderfully helpful, knowledgeable. Food was surprisingly good. Good traditional ales available. Only downside is distance from the village and difficulty getting anywhere without a car.

The great location, quiet and within easy reach of lots of great walks and even better tea rooms. Food (evening meal) was like good school dinner- not fancy but good helpings and tasty. Breakfast was very good- as good as any hotel chain.

Sharing malodorous loos. Shower curtain too short and bath mat mouldy however you can't have everything for a double room at £36 per night!

Loved the location (despite having to haul luggage up the hill). Was pleasantly surprised by the size of the room. Karen, the receptionist, was absolutely wonderful and so most helpful. She even lent us her personal maps!

The pillows could have been a bit fluffier for comfort. Everything else was wonderful.

Nice building and lovely location and spacious garden with picnic tables. Plenty of parking.

Rooms, toilets and beds quite small, and mattresses old. You might need a car, is a bit far from town and steep way to get by foot if carrying much stuff. Recepcionist could be more prepared to deal with reservations, maybe substituting ?
