눉- the street is very loud, day and night - reserved the flat with the bath but got one with a shower

눉Perhaps the one minorly irritating thing was the fact there is only one lavatory - we didn't mind too much but I could see perhaps if two couples were sharing the flat this might be a bit of a problem. The TV is also exclusively German channels which isn't great if you don't speak much German... but do you really go to Vienna to watch TV? These really are the only two things I could think of where people might complain.
눇There is really pretty much nothing to dislike about this apartment. We stayed in the two bedroom family suite which was perfectly suited to our needs. Although obviously a larger apartment has been subdivided to form this and the other apartments on the floor, it has been done in a tasteful way which has not wrecked the atmosphere and integrity of the building. This was much appreciated, as we get a bit tired of staying in faceless cookie cutter hotels - this had personality and style right from the entrance way and the charming old-fashioned lift (think Thoroughly Modern Millie without the tapdancing) to the door furniture and fitments in the apartment itself. The apartment is furnished to comfortably facilitate a longer stay than the long weekend we visited - there is a full-service fitted kitchen and washing machine, bags of storage space and comfortably proportioned bathrooms. No expense has been spared. The beds are large, and firm, which is a pleasant change after experiencing many many 'soft' beds where you wake up with a bad back after a day's sightseeing. The bedlinen and towels provided are of excellent quality. The wifi is fast and reliable. What was really special, though, was the fact the staff/owners really did go out of their way to be helpful. We arrived early in the morning and were allowed to leave our luggage at the apartment so we could go off sightseeing and return when it was time for us to check in without having to drag our wheelie cases around with us. We were also allowed to check out late and we got the impression nothing was too much trouble. This was very very much appreciated. There is a small supermarket close by for immediate needs like milk, bread etc, and a variety of good restaurants nearby for meals out. The Cafe Sperl is very close and well worth a visit. All in all we really could not fault this apartment and would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending it to other visitors to Vienna.
