Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

NetherlandsAlthough the single room is already quite small, maybe adding a small fridge and water cooker/coffee maker would be possible.
The room was quiet, the bed was pretty good, and the Wifi worked fine. The free parking in the nearby garage was a huge plus (difficult and paid street parking everywhere). Breakfast was good, with choices from cereals, bread, kaiserbrotchen, fruit, cakes, etc.

This is the 3rd time I have stayed at the Hotel Engl. Not only is this location close to Old Town, a shortcut through the park about 2 blocks away takes you quickly over the Inn River and right into Old Town by the Otto House. Very easy. We liked that the parking was free and even though it was about a block up the street, it was easy, convenient and secure. One can unload in front of the hotel and then drive on to the underground lot. We had a twin room on the 3rd floor (American 3rd floor) but the elevator was quick and smooth. Our room was the standard size, the bathroom a little small but very workable and clean. We had a room facing the main street and next time, I would ask for a quieter room in the back as we wanted the windows open at night (October) and it was a big noisy, but we slept well. This is an older hotel, but very pleasant and good for Innsbruck. The breakfast was and always is fantastic with many cheeses, fruits, meats, hot foods, drinks, cereals, etc. The pastry choices were excellent. The owners are very friendly and helpful, too. We would stay there again.

SwitzerlandStaff could have warned me about festival that's going to happen in front of the hotel which affected parking time. I don't recommend breakfast: it was really poor and not particularly fresh.
Nice hotel, it's very close to city center. No issues overall, but price was a little at higher end.

AustriaChristine, the owner/manager, is super efficient and client-oriented; she made sure that our special requests were immediately attended to. Her recommended list of restaurants is on target! The hotel location is a pleasant 6-7 minutes walk to the Old Town, as well as to the Congress Station, where one can take the Innsbrucker Nordkettenbahnen to see the Top of Innsbruck.

United KingdomNot that any of these issues were a massive issue but bare in mind there is no air conditioning. It was mid September and although cooler than the summer month we found the room to be hot. I should think come summer this might get a bit uncomfortable. Our room window looked out on to a wall and nothing else. There was only one pillow per person but very flat. Seems to be the usual thing here in Austria. No extra pillows in the room. I guess I could have asked for extra but the first night was rather late and same again second night when we remembered. Again none of the above was a massive issue, just highlighting a few cons.
Proximity to Altstadt (old town) and the golden roof was fantastic. Literally a stroll away over the river. Quiet area in the evening during mid September when we visited. If you want secure parking then the hotel does have an underground parking area 80 metres away. We were travelling in a sport car so this was very handy and secure. Breakfast was usual continental breakfast. Lots of room to sit and eat. Bedroom was clean and acceptable. Windows had dark curtains so kept the room dark in the morning allowing you a longer sleep.

United KingdomAs it was warm weather we wanted to have our window open over night for fresh air, however the road noise outside was too much. An air conditioning unit was provided instead which worked fine.

SlovakiaVery nice hotel in the city center with own parking (which was super-convenient) and nice spacious rooms. Check-in was smooth, stuff was really nice. The bathroom was clean and big, with all necessities. We also had breakfast - various selection of salty (eggs, ham, cheese) and sweet food - yoghurt, cakes, cereals... Overall, it's the best value for money!
