Great host, helpful, friendly and going the extra mile to help and give suggestions. Free coffee in the morning was a great, generous bonus. I couldn't be any happier. Great location, not touristy but at the same time close to Hallstatt and Dachstein.

The house was surounded by mountains, looked really cozy and was nice and clean! The owner was really kind and helpful, right now the mountain tops are still snowed under so our hiking plans didn’t go exactly as planned. He didn’t hesitate in giving us tips for renting snowshoes etc or for other trails we could walk. All in all we absolutely adored our stay!

This was a stunning property, syper close and accesable to visit Hallstatt, and the town is picturesque. The host, Michael, is so kind and very happy to help with information and where to go. The bus route is also a few minutes walk so super convenient. The room was very neat, spacious and warm. The views were incredible. If I get the chance I will 100% stay here again. Thank you!

There was no air condition system for heating, but heating radiator, that was not operating all time. I am not saying that it was a little cold sometimes, but my wife.

Spent here two nights as part of hour honeymoon journey towards Tirol. Obertraun is only 15 minutes by car from Hallstatt. Bad Ishl is also maximum 30 minutes by car. We have arrived a little late compared to the official check in times, but our host provided the key into a safe and sent through an e-mail the code for the access. Everything went well. The breakfast was great with several options. The room was clean and big enough.

Michael, the host, was quite helpful; would have missed out on Dachstein mountain if it weren't for his voluntary guidance. The bed was cozy. Mountain view out the window. The showers were always clean; the fact that the people who stay in Alpenrose are considerate of other fellow residents helps as well. It's in the centre of Orbertraun; walking distance from the supermarket, the bike rental, and the restaurants. The breakfast is included and it's delicious. Michael claimed it was his pleasure to accomodate me during my stay but I say it was my pleasure to have chosen this accomodation in the first place. Thanks again, boss. — From Malta🇲🇹

That I should have stayed longer.

Everything was lovely. Haus Alpenrose was a mere minute walk from the train station. The place was cozy and clean. I even got an upgraded room with a view! Breakfast was simple but filling. The host, Michael, was very pleasant and gave me the best tips on how to get around with my itinerary, especially with the weather. You can never go wrong with listening to a local's recommendation. Will definitely recommend this place.l

Obertraun was quiet but sometimes too much as there were limited things to do in the area. This made it hard to be sociable

Beautiful property in the beautiful village of Obertraun, right across the lake from Hallstatt. Being outside of Hallstatt, the price was a much better value, but Hallstatt was still easily accessible, and the ice cave and Dachstein cable car were even closer than had I stayed in Hallstatt. There was also free parking, which is unheard of in this area. The room was cozy, with separate shared toilets and shower room on the same hall. The host Michael was very friendly and communicated with me very well before and during my stay. Breakfast was also very nice and filling.

The town has very few restaurants, so if you need to go to Hallstätter parking can be a issue,take the boat across

The location was perfect. Away from the hustle and bustle of Halstatt, but close enough. The host was amazing and went above and beyond to make my stay very comfortable. The rooms were in excellent condition! I would definitely love to come back again!

The bed mattress was not really my style, but that can be a "me problem".

Spotlessly clean, great hospitality, quiet but central as far as Obertraun goes (train&bus 3 minutes away). Good breakfast selection, fridge use possible, perfect base for outdoor sports. Michael is a great host and will provide the travellers a lot of useful info.

Perfect location close to everything e.g., supermarket, Dachstein Krippenstein, and Hallstatt. So, it make more convenience to do the sightseeing by hiking, cable car, and ship. The place is very clean and staff is nice and kind. The bed is comfortable. Only recommend!
