Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

It's a kind of weird for me the contactless checkin and checkout. You do this completely by yourself.
The room is very comfortable, the place is quiet and close to the main attractions.

The disadvantage of self check-in is not having local staff to advise on transport and where to eat.

I wasn’t satisfied with the toiletries. The ones available were of good quality but there was no soap in the shower and I like being given a shower cap etc.
Excellent location, clean room with comfy bed and friendly staff.

It was very old furniture but clean. Actually, all were as in pictures but it is old. Little bit noisy from the corridors but quite safe.
Location and price were the most pro arguments. Close to the city house and Christmas market. Convenient for a number of activities

The self check-in was a bit complicated- we'd booked two rooms at last minute but only one of codes worked. I would prefer, if there was an actual staff member available- even if this was just for a couple of hours a day.
Good location and good sized rooms. Bathrooms were large with nice shampoo, body lotions included.

Because of the self check in feature, there was absolutely no one ever at the reception. We arrived early and there was no one there to secure our luggage between 9 am and 3 pm check-in. Your choices were to start sightseeing with your luggage or leave it completely unattended in the reception area and hope for the best. We left it there at our own risk. It was still there when we returned at 3, but that day my sightseeing was with a hint of anxiety as, even though there was nothing valuable in the suitcase, losing it would mean no change of clothes, toothbrush or comb. Also the temperature in the room was 30 degrees Celsius, stifling hot. Unable to adjust, we slept with windows open.
Location is good. Fairly comfortable beds.

The room was not very clean. There was some kind of electronic cigarette lost by some other guests before us on the flour. Then the hair after shaving in bathroom, it was unpleasant.
The location is very nice during Christmas time, because it's near the main Christmas market.

The beds were very firm. I asked for 3 extra pillows at booking and didn't have them upon check-in. I sent a message to reception that took a while for a response. Eventually, I ran into a very friendly housekeeper who gave us the pillows. The elevator has charm but is old, so has size/weight limitations. The TV was very small. All in all, the room was clean, in a great location, and the check-in/out instructions were easy, and the process was very straightforward.
The location was great...close to everything and in a safe neighborhood.

Check in didn't go as easy as I had hoped. I never received my email with a code and I just want things to go smooth and not have to worry about these type of things. I was worried this would happen and it did. The second number I called did connect me with someone who helped me and they were very good.
Amazing location! I wanted something close to the main Christmas market and this was it! It's also close to the tram as well as a stop to the hop on hop off bus.

Room was fairly small and drab (but clean), with windows opening onto an interior space w/ little light.
Excellent location just next to the Rathaus (City Hall) and main University building. Just a 3-5 minute walk to the Schottentor subway and streetcar station. Self check-in was easy. Number of good pubs and restaurants within walking distance. Convenient to the center of the city (15-min walk), but in a much more quiet area. Room (and rest of building) very quiet.
