How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Loved the place, everything you would need: amenities, comfort, modern design, spacious with a great balcony view over Rye beach, great location as well, easy drive to Point Nepean National park or Cape Schanck, close to Woolworths and some restaurants. Seamless check-in & check out. Great host, easy to reach and was very helpful responding to my wife’s extra request, thank you :-) Highly recommended place to stay.

The parking for apartment 7 was very tight to reverse in and drive out of.
The apartment was clean with great facilities, easy to get to and a leisurely walk to the shops and restaurants. We were really happy with our stay at Aquabelle Apartments.

A few more pillow options for beds would be good. Only firm, high pillows available.
Great location, comfortably furnished, clean and all the necessary kitchen things needed for a great stay.

The car parking space for aquabelle 4 was very narrow you cannot open the door if you park at that spot .iIt can be really challenging for less experienced drivers

There was incredibly loud music from a pub/club that pulsated the entire apartment for a few hours on the Saturday night which wasn't great while it lasted but that is all.

Would have been helpful to know that parking is going to be tight for 4WD vehicles. Facing the car park was ok for us as we were not spending a lot of time in the apartment but may be a big deal for others.

Hard to complain but little improvements could make it better. Heaters didn't really kick in until 30 degrees. It took us awhile to realise. Shower door not enough (ensuite) - shower sprays onto floor. Shades were not full black out in room with windows (gaps). Hard to remake the beds.
Great location, easy walk to restaurants and beach. Enclosed car park for safety. Easy code entry access. Comfy and chic decor and lighting. Well equipped kitchen and easy to use oven and microwave. Nice set of toilet amenities. There is a bathtub!

That we didn't stay longer
Proximity to local shops and the beach - no more than a 5min walk Donna was very quick with answering my questions, had a few last minute request that Donna was able to fulfill with no fuss. Location was very good, close to most things we had planned. Would come back and stay here when the opportunity arises. Apartment is very well kept, it's much bigger in person compared to the photos. Thankyou Donna for the Beautiful stay.

The front doors onto the deck needed adjustment to make them fit better and get rid of a draft.Any other small issues were promptly sorted by the management.
The location was excellent and relatively quiet.Handy to several restaurants.A sunny deck to enjoy an afternoon drink.We had a 3 bedroom apartment which was plenty big enough and had obviously been facelifted at some recent time.
