Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

DenmarkThe tents could use some better and more clean fans, as it gets a little hot. Kitchen was not the cleanest. Wi-fi was not the best in many areas.
Fun and interesting little accomodation. Cool details. We stayed in one of the tents with a Roof. There is Good bathrooms and toilets. Good view from the Common area.

United KingdomFelt a bit dated in terms of decor and a few of the walls had been damaged. Air con was quite loud, which was slightly annoying during the night.
Good location, that had bus stops nearby. Room was a good size!

Spacious 2 person room, AC worked well (but made a lot of noise), nice hot showers.

FranceI booked a bed in a 2-bed and a 4-bed dormitory, both with AC and fan The dormitory is wide and large enough, so you do not feel packed at all. The bed is a single bed, large enough, with a fair enough good mattress. Towel is provided. For each of these dorms (and the entire hostel), you have access to many sanitory facilities (1 full bathroom (shower, toilet, sink), 1 shower + sink, 1 shower, 1 toilet + sink, 1 toilet). All were clean. You also have access to a fully equipped kitchen, open from 7am to 10pm. Breakfast available for 10aud (cereals, toasts, fruit, yoghurt, juice) The common spaces are very nice. The WiFi is good. Located in the heart of Nelly Bay. 50m away from the main beach. 1.3km away from the ferry terminal / supermarket. The owner (Ian) is very chilled and friendly. I would definitely recommend this place for a short or a long stay.

ChileThe bed was a bit old. Pillows could also have an upgrade.
Ian and Greg are amazing hosts, their tips and knowledge of the island was amazing. Their willingness to share their wisdom is very kind. All the facilities are very clean, and the rooms have heaps of space. I stayed in a mixed 4 bedroom and did not feel at all crowded, no bunk beds so that was great. The location is handy, half way to Nelly Bay and half way to Horseshoe bay. A couple of meters away from wallabies and really close to Alma beach.

United KingdomWe stayed in the tent, it was completely fine but I think a bit overpriced for a bed in a tent.

CanadaBathrooms weren’t the cleanest. This property could do a lot better if it was on Hostelworld and had some better photos. I was also warned to not rent a car here because the host tries to get extra money out of everyone. I had multiple friends experience this.
Location, comfort, towels provided, super cute. Host provided a good description of things to do on the island.

United KingdomLots of young European and American backpackers in this one. Whilst there are signs asking guests to be quiet after 10pm, they don’t. And they even invite their new friends over from other hostels to use the pool table so becomes a bit of a youth club vibe after 10pm. The bed I had is situated directly adjacent to the area where the guests socialise and you will be forced to stay awake until they go to bed. A young Dutch lady was laughing uncontrollably until 3am on the first night. The next night I was the last to bed at 1.30am.
Short 15 minute walk from the Ferry Terminal, it’s just a cheap, friendly base for a couple of days on Maggie Island. Met by the owner Ian, nice bloke provided map and quick explanation of where to go and best way to get around to see everything. I stayed in a bed in a tent in the back of the property which given the inbound tropical cyclone was a unique experience. There is a shared kitchen to make your meals and a shared shower/toilet.

CanadaMy cabana door was hard to close/secure. The place needs more bathrooms for the number of cabanas it has. The owner was a grouch too, though the staff members were pleasant.
Comfortable bed, clean bathroom, well-stocked kitchen. The netted tent was effective in keeping the bugs out. Lovely garden. Lots of things to see within walking distance, also has a bus stop close by for beaches and hiking trails that are farther away. Be sure to visit Alma Bay Beach, which is just an 8-minute walk away! It was my favourite place on the island.
