Limited space around bathroom vanity for items or clean clothes to change into after shower. Minimal maintenance to car park - leaves not raked up from trees and reduces car parks available for use.

Quiet street and comfortable room that suited our needs.

This room was in a lovely little quiet St, but also close to everything. The staff were extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble.

Animals in the rooms. We used the washing machine and dryer but it was evident that dog blankets et al were being washed/dried in these facilities. The carpet in the room was quite stained.

Location. Value for money. The shower. Car parking and laundry facilities.

The cutlery in the room was dirty and had food stuck on the forks so had not been cleaned properly. The lock on the bathroom door looked like it was broken off and the air conditioner unit was right next to the top bunk bed so you could not have the aircon on if someone was sleeping on the top bunk as the air con unit would be blowing in their face. The bed was at the same height as the air con unit.

It was suitable for our overnight stay on our way back to Queensland. The beds were comfortable and it was in a close location to groceries and a restaurant.

Booking had stated there would be a microwave in the room however there wasn’t. I felt more communication about the fact there was a restaurant with continental breakfast available would have been good.

We stayed in the Executive Room in a lovely sized room with a lounge and business desk and a balcony. The bed and lounge were both comfortable. Pretty surroundings with trees overhanging as a backdrop. Due to the weather we were unable to enjoy the balcony but it would be so pretty sitting out there.

The carpet had dark stains, specially bear the door. It just didn't give the room a good look. The blinds had some hooks missing which was tricky to ensure privacy, as the blind didn't run to the end of the rail. The most disappointing thing was that Booking.com did not advertise the room with the additional pet fee of $60. So when I booked it and drove all the way to the hotel I was informed of this fee at reception. We had been driving for over 7 hrs and were absolutely exhausted. All other properties we could have booked with were at least 30 to 45min away further. So we had no other choice but to pay the fee. As our fatigue could have endangered us by being on the road and in a city we've never been. The pet fee was absolutely ridiculous, considering my dog is 16 y/o. Has her own bedding and barely moved. So there was no cleaning involved. But the biggest problem with this was the huge failure from Booking.com to inform us of the fee. Had we known of the fee we wouldn't have booked it. And we probably would have gone to another place which we had found as we got closer to Canberra. Instead we drove to the city thinking it would be best. The recptionis at Ibis said Booking.com should have had the fee on the booking but I assured and showed him this was not the case. I stayed at 5 different places during this trip and avoided using Booking.com and the one time I used it it was a total disappointment.

The room had clean sheets, bathroom and furniture. It had good internet, a TV, good lighting, a desk to work if needed. A small fridge, a kettle and some plates and cutlery. The receptionist was professional and respectful, especially as he had to provide an additional fee which I had not been informed of at the time of the reservation via Booking.com.

For one of the cheaper motels in Canberra, it’s good value.

The thing that dissatisfied me was it sounded like the hot water system for the entire level was literally inside my room; obviously it wasn’t but that’s what it sounded like. Anytime anyone used their bathroom tap I could hear a clunk as the system turned on and off. This happened all day and also all night. It would have taken an extremely deep sleeper to sleep through the noise. I wore noise cancelling headphones playing white noise through them the entire 4 nights I was there yet was still woken multiple times (as an indication of how loud the “clunk” was). As stated in the description, the upper level can only be accessed by stairs. As is often the case in motel rooms, you’re sleeping 2m from the fridge which cuts in and out 24/7. As is not uncommon in cheap motels, the door base wasn’t exactly parallel with the floor, leaving a visible gap for noise and anything else to come under.

I’d read reviews and knew there was a divide between those who were thrilled and those who were appalled. By Canberra standards, this is one of the cheaper options and I was more than satisfied in terms of cheap motels. It’s residential with absolutely no street or surrounding noise. Parking is free and plentiful. The room I stayed in was decent in size with a queen sized bed, lounge, wifi that worked the entire time, microwave, bar fridge, bathroom stocked with products including shower cap etc. If you’re expecting a 5 star hotel, this is not the place for you. This is a cheap (and fairly old) motel with staff presenting it as best they can. Although I chose not to utilise it, daily housekeeping was provided and staff were definitely making beds, changing towels, emptying bins etc daily since I checked with those around me and also saw it happening as I came and went.

In a quiet street close to two shopping locales, helpful staff, daily room service was good as fresh towels were supplied daily (as used towels didn't dry) and the guest laundry was clean and the equipment worked well.
