We have no complaints. Next time we will make time to do the lighthouse tour. The cottage is ideally situated along the South West walk, so we were able to do a number of short walks from that location, rather than aim for one specific destination.

Easy to find reception at the hotel in Portland. Breakfast provisions were just right for a two night stay. Private and quiet location, but still very close to the beach and South West walking trail

Nothing really - you can’t walk to any nearby shops (although there is a decent coffee shop on site) but that’s not a concern. The lighthouse’s isolation is what makes the whole experience so brilliant.

Really special - superior cottage with wonderful interior in unbelievably-dramatic location, next to lighthouse. Feels totally unique in a really good way. Exceptionally clean and tons of character.

Wifi was very weak, needed to walk to front of main house to get adequate reception. Not critical if you’re not doing anything important, but with phone reception limited, was an issue as I needed to send and receive some documents. Also, no screen on windows or door meant close encounters with March flies!

Location was fabulous, visiting wallabies very cute. Annex where we stayed was well equipped and comfortable.

Loved the location - a real sense of the isolation of the early keepers. The modern kitchen and bathroom were appreciated, but the added extras of olden times were the icing on the cake. Brekky was fabulous!! Loved the sunlounge. And really appreciated the 11am checkout.

Wifi is provided but there is no good reception. You should forget about modern technology during your stay. Just relax, chat and enjoy the gorgeous nature and kangaroo hopping around!

The cottage was comfortable for stay. Picked up a key at Quality Hotel in the town centre and reception was friendly. Information such as access to the cottage and how to unlock the door was clear and easy to understand and there was no issue to enter the cottage. Spacious kitchen with electric cooktop, fridge, toaster, oven. Cutlery looked new. Cottage was kept clean and aircon worked fine during the stay. Comfortable sofa in the living room with large flat screen TV. Bed was comfortable too. Great location next to the lighthouse if you prefer quiet environment and if you are a nature person.

Just a pity we couldn't access some fresh air as there was no opening windows with fly screens.

Celebrating a wedding anniversary, perfect ambience. The house cleaner was extremely friendly upon departure. Breakfast package was more than adequate. Interesting variety of books/magazines to absorb if we'd had more time.

We had issues with tourists visiting thinking it was part of the lighthouse even though there was a sign . Some were a little annoyed they couldn’t see through but we would not allow it. We are paying guests . Maybe more signage or another gate might help . No idea .

Fantastic beautiful cottage in an amazing location near the lighthouse . Very well equipped with added bonus of breaky in fridge. Great idea

Lack of instructions on the sheet when picking up the key, how to actually use the key to open the door. Only one tea bag was provided for ordinary tea users.

There were no negatives for us

We stayed in the Annexe, it was perfect for us. Extremely comfortable, clean and warm. Walking tracks right there and just a short drive to Portland for any supplies you might want. Magnificent views, rugged coastline, the waves rolling in, oh wow - amazing My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay and would definitely stay here again.

The Annex is joined onto the back of the larger cottage and we could hear the neighbours when they spoke to loudly.

The Annex was very tastefully decorated with combining the old style with the convenience of the new. We loved staying in this little cottage and also loved the visit from wallabies at dusk.
