Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

AustraliaThere should not be a 5-6 WORKING/BUSINESS days TWO HUNDRED DOLLAR room deposit hold. That $200 hold should be released immediately once we have left the room and they have inspected the room.
I can't really complain as the facilities were clean, neat and the location was very convenient. Only gripe was that there was no milk pods provided, the desk staff stated that they do not supply milk; there are tea bags, coffee and sugar sachets, but no milk. I would have been happy to pay for those small milk boxes as there is no shop or garage nearby to go and get milk either. The staff, both night and day, what seemed to be the owner/manager the next day, were rather unfriendly. Sorry to be a Karen, but really, a place is enhanced when their staff are friendly! They were pretty rude, one staff member battled to speak English which made me feel like I was not in Australia. Apparently you need to go and "read the small print in the contract" as I had NO idea there was a TWO HUNDRED DOLLAR room deposit hold upon checking in and I only had $200 left in my bank. Yes, I have had to pay $100 holding fee at other motels, but not $200; AND... all of them release that deposit immediately once you vacate your room and they inspect the room. Apparently City Waters hold your deposit for 5-6 WORKING / BUSINESS days. I find this time-period unacceptable and would suggest that City Waters changes this policy. When I queried it to the night 'manager' - he threatened to rather "cancel my booking" if I was not happy about it. The next morning, the manager was emphatic about the waiting period too, "nothing can be done, I have to wait for it, and I should have read the small print in my booking contract". However, upon seeing my need, I think he did organise to have the hold lifted, thank you! All-in-all, City Waters is a clean and very centrally located motel to stay in beautiful Perth.

The building itself does not look really appealing and so was the entrance in, but surprised by the inside. Love the kitchen, big gas stove, shower is good.The bed is good. Love the location. Not far to walk to the main city area. Love it.
