Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaDisappointed there was no restaurant open when I got back at 7pm. Didn’t feel like going out, some basic food availability would have been nice.
Whilst the bathroom in room 222 was small, it was functional, with a great shower.

United KingdomFound two loose airpods, one was in one of the beds, the other was under a bed, so questions about how well the room was cleaned before our arrival.
A nice room in a good area close to plenty of cafés.

New ZealandDragging bags up steps (lift access was from basement car park, not from the street, where we were dropped off). No staff around at breakfast even though they'd said they could cater for food intolerance. Stains on bedspread. Hook had pulled away on bathroom door and not replaced.
Reception staff were friendly and welcoming. Shower was good. Easy walk to food/bars, beach and trams. Wifi worked well. Grateful for aircon in 38 degree heat.

AustraliaThe cups in the room were so small and no alternatives were available, breakfast was $30 per person not included in the price of the room where as we were able to go to the cafe and pay less than that for the 2 of us, makes no sense. The fridge in the room was noisy and outdated and woke us up a few times during our stay.
The location was good for tourists The linen was clean and extra amenities were available plus the cafe on site was handy

AustraliaI needed to book a room for six nights at short notice, while the Australian Open was on and The Crest appeared to be the best value for money to meet my needs. I was very pleased with the accommodation/facilities/comfort/and assistance from staff. Hotel is very close to buses/trams/eating places. The bed was great! The outside cafe, downstairs but part of The Crest was great - consistently best poached eggs I've ever had (so good I had then for five days!!). Some elements of The Crest are a bit dated, being an older hotel, however, that is easily overlooked given the reasonable pricing. I would stay again.

AustraliaThe breakfast was terrible. It was a continental breakfast, but not even a good one. There was no one clue as to how long the ham, fruit or cheese had been sitting there. There were croissants but no way to warm them. Honestly I've never seen a less inspiring display of food.
The beds are extra comfy Rooms are great Most staff very friendly and helpful. The location is an easy walk to all St Kilda attractions.

AustraliaRooms are a bit tired and need an update. Very difficult to close the window and as there was no screen, little flies came in. Tiny bathroom. Scratch on the tv screen. Very narrow corridors and not the best signage. Could use some attention to detail in cleaning, light switches were dirty and lots of dust and dirt behind bedside tables and window sills. Rest of the room was clean.
Lovely staff and a nice little coffee shop/bottle shop underneath. Very comfortable beds and pillows.
