Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The room was clean and perfect for walking distance to the city. There was a problem with the reservation, but staff was really helpful and I had a great night.

Perfect location at the heart of the Grampians, only a short stroll away to the center of Halls Gap, and within walking distance to must-do hike trails. Conveniently, the bus stop is a mere few metres away for those travelling V-Line/Coach - carpark available on site too. My room was spacious, cozy, peaceful, clean and lovely, and the bed was really comfy so I slept like a rock - exactly what I needed for my stay. The hospitality well exceeded my expectations; add in a shared BBQ area and a cute backyard, topped off with the best night sky views in town. What’s not to love? Thank you Tony and David for a wonderful stay, I hope to return soon!

the communal kitchen had everything you needed, but was not very clean - not sure it gets used all that often.
the room was clean and surprisingly quiet given the main road was just outside. great location for trips into and out of town. staff were very friendly and helpful.

A bit more crockery. At least a small bottle or box of fresh milk for tea or coffee on arrival.
We are very impressed, satisfied with the quality of the bath towels, bed sheets. The towels are white, thick and soft. The sheets are white, crisp, beg enough. Both are 5 stars!

I've stayed at Gariwerd many times and have always found the place and staff clean and helpful. It's location so close to town and the many walks is perfect for my needs when visiting the area. Look forward to visiting again soon.

Some machine (air con? generator?) at the back of our unit was quite loud at night which meant we had to keep the bathroom window closed.
Very easy to access, walkable distance to Hall’s gap restaurants and cafes, large room, comfortable bed, kitchenette (kettle, toaster, fridge, and microwave) facilities, responsive staff, lots of information provided, air con, price, kangaroos.

Room preparation obviously rushed but suspect staff problems due to recent fires.
Loved Halls Gap and motel suited us fine. Really great travel and walk advice on checkin.

Greta location, just 10 min walk to town but with kangeroos in the garden. Rooms clean and spacious and owners really helpful. Turned up a little late as had puncture on way but quickly came over once I arrived to sort of check in etc.

1. Was woken at 6:30am but a yapping dog. I think it was another guests so not the hotels fault. We were aware pets were allowed at the property,I guess I was just expecting owners to be considerate of others if they had a dog with them. Honestly the dog thing was the only issue we had.
1. Hosts communicated clearly and made check-in/out very simple 2. Air con was on when we arrived making the room pleasant 3. Simple cutlery and plates/glasses available for use 4. Microwave, kettle and toaster in room 5. The location was good for us. Just outside the town centre close to walking tracks 6. Bed was firm and very comfortable. We had a great sleep. 7. The small firepits with surrounding seating, were really cool. Made me think of hanging out with friends,toasting marshmallows and telling stories around the fire. 8. Shower was nothing fancy but did the job. Had a handheld attachment which was convenient. 9. Moccona coffee satchels was a win! I usually take coffee but forgot on this occasion so not having to resort to horrible Nescafe (which gets provided alot) was wonderful.

Common kitchen was a bit smelly. The queen bed was way too soft. Didn't have any goodnight sleep. But I would still go back!!!
All the facilities in the room were just what we needed. Shower was amazing. Travelling with a 4 year old. She was very happy with all the books and activities, ducks, and ofcourse running around and exploring.

Pity the room wasn’t cleaned once during a four day stay. Clean towels were offered but no cleaning.
