The bathrooms and kitchens were not as clean as when I stayed previously. The bunk beds were extremely wobbly and squeaky! But otherwise the stay was fab.

This is my second time staying here and I love how chilled and welcoming it is there. Has everything you need and the staff are lovely and helpful.

Each bunk bed had privacy curtains, a socket and an individual lamp. Bathroom was clean and kitchen well equipped. I was lucky enough to use the brand new kitchenware they brought in and it was awesome! Staff was super friendly as well. Overall, the place feels very homely and even more if you make some friends there

As it is a shared accommodation with high flow of customers flow, noise is expected. However, when roommates have less understanding to control their to noise levels, stays could be potentially becoming less enjoyable.

No grocery store close by.....maybe you could have some long life milk available for sale? Only one toilet on ground floor....

Historic building that my great grandmother trained in to become a Salvation Army officer late 1890s. Trams nearby. Lovely gardens close by. Thank you for clearing out space in fridges/shelves by regular discarding items of vacated guests. This is seldom done in other hostels. Great staff, best I've met past 2mths travelling WA & Vic. Great lounge with Netflix. Appreciate the no alcohol regulation; keeps the place clean, safe, quiet, & friendly . Thanks for allowing a 60yo single female stay!

I really liked staying at the Mansion, I thought the old building was charming. The female dorm I stayed in was a normal dorm room, you have your own lamp and socket, the beds were ok and all that. The staff was super nice and the common areas were nice, even if the kitchen got a bit crowded sometimes.

The bed was -very- squeaky and I couldn't sleep well because I was afraid to wake the others in the room.

A quiet yet sociable hostel! 5 minute walk to the free tram zone! Everything was clean.

A lot of equipment really need to be changes + there is not enough common areas. As a result a lot of people have to go up the stairs to find where to sit in the corridor. Going to your room on the second floor (sorry but it is actually a 4th floor high building because this is an old building) is quite tiring without any elevator.

The neighbourhood area, the proximity with free tramways, the large streets in front, the wide reception area, the TV room.

There was one insect in the room and the shower. I guess it is difficult to avoid that, they seemed to try hard (no food in rooms rule etc.). We felt like there could be more preparation-space in the kitchen, you kept standing in each others way. The window kept no noise out and the property is located at a big street. There could be a few touch ups, the paint comes off the walls here and there and I didn’t like that there was a mat in the downstairs shared toilet, I felt it seemed a little unhygienic.

We had a private room with shared bathrooms, the room was small with a few hangers and a well-sized Bed. We felt very comfortable and welcome in the hostel. The kitchen was very well equipped, it even had a contact-grill! The garden was nice aswell. The Staff was very welcoming! We were allowed to use the facilities all day, after check-out! There was a regular cleaning schedule. The location is awesome, right next to Fitzroy quarter und very central! We walked to the train station. Also it’s inside the free tram zone!

It was my first dorm experience and it was awesome! Rose was the one who attended to me throughout the stay. She was really patient and helpful 🫶 Everyone is easygoing and friendly. Facilities are clean and fully-equipped. Location is really convenient at Parliament station - You can travel within the free tram zone around the city, or take the train and it's few min walk from Parliament station. Thanks Mansion!

The booking said there was air con in the room, however, it was just a fan and the rooms were far too hot.

Nice friendly feel about the hostel. Lots of advice from reception.

Maybe the bathrooms could have been cleaned a little more. I know the accommodation was really busy when we stayed so maybe upkeep on that. Otherwise great

How central the accommodation was! It was perfect for what we needed and the staff and people there were so lovely.
