Staff wasn’t that friendly (not everybody ofc), kitchen is really dirty and to crowded. You have to search for plates and cutlery the whole time. There to many bags in the fridge and there’s water in the fridge always. Also it looks like it’s very social but I think there are allot of people who stay in a group because of the longterm people there.

breakfast starts too late, I stayed 1 night and I couldn't have it because i had to leave, so I can't give a rate on it.

the location is good, the bedrooms are very nice and spacious. the private bathroom allows you and your rommates to keep it clean and leave your stuff there. big and comfortable shower. the structure in general is really nice with the pool in the middle. the bar is open till late and also no-guests are allowed to access it. comfortable and big beds with a light on each one.

I got very unlucky and was in a room of long termers. Reception were super helpful with moving me etc but it tainted my stay here. The room was filthy and the people in my room were horrible.

The dorms were just so extremely messy, especially because of the long term people. The shower floor was packed with empty shampoo bottles and old towels. There were no room to put your toiletries when using the bathroom, since people had left trash, old toothbrushes and razors. Toilet was not cleaned often either. In the dorm, some people had taken over more than one locker, so there were no free ones left for new people. The floor was filled with people’s stuff laying all over the place, so sometimes you were unable to walk through. When the housekeepers came, they quickly just swept the floor but did not do anything about the mess (for example give them a warning/fine or take it to the lost and found -section, like most other hostels). In no meaning am I blaming all of this on the staff, since the kitchen are was held cleaning and tidy, as well as the common areas. I kind of just wish that there would have been more house-rules and consequences, so that everyone would be able to enjoy there stay.

The hostel gave good advice and free consultations on trips in Cairns and its surroundings, aswell as on the East Coast.

The hostel could be noisy at night because of the bar but the rooms are pretty well soundproofed.

loud music every day, all day long, remixes, house the fridge room (sometimes notes that bags will be removed if not labelled-in one week noone actually did it), by the end of the week the bags took over even half the floor the kitchen! unfortunately people do not put away dishes at all no curtains on beds no free food shelf wifi connection not the best

Sometimes the showers were cold, as well as the free Wi-Fi would quite often dip in and out and worked when it felt like, which can be very frustrating, the only other thing which can’t really be helped is how clique-y this hostel is, as in groups of people stick to each other, or at least you have to know a few of them to start mingling otherwise it’s just large groups amongst individuals, would be nice if they had activities that involved people more. Finally the last thing was that there was only one pool/snooker table, and most of the time it was the ‘popular’ people only playing, I wished they’d had a few more tables.

Nice big fridge with plenty of space to keep your food in, not having to squeeze it in amongst other peoples in 4 fridges that many other hostels do, the beds are comfy, the staff pleasant and helpful. Quite a chill vibe this place, definitely a party hostel.
