Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaDidn't realise when it said split level that the bedrooms were down some very pokey stairs. Three of us where not that nimble on our feet so had to take extra care descending

The location was perfect - once we discovered how easy it was to get to the tram and bus stop. A short walk to Darling harbour. Facilities were great too, not that we used the pool but my son used the gym. All of the staff were really helpful too.

AustraliaNothing really, short walk to the harbour and positioned a bit out of the way but no major issue.
It’s old school charm, very unusual but interesting property.

AustraliaA little noisy, through walls and door. Access was via 8-10 stairs, which was challenging with heavy luggage.

United Kingdom1) I booked the cheapest one bed and our balcony overlooked a multi storey carpark! It wasn't a problem for me as I was hardly in the room, but if you want a more attractive view it would be worth upgrading. 2) It isn't a pretty place, but it's a great base for exploring Sydney. 3) The internet was a little slow at times so it's worth downloading stuff before you go, especially as the tv only has Fox American channels which aren't the best! 4) I see someone described the area as a bit sketchy and I see what they mean as it is on a back street, but I walked back by myself at around 10 most nights and I always felt safe and there were usually people around. (There is a big hotel nearby as well as lots of people in the appartments.)
1) The location is fantastic. 4 mins walk to the light rail (Exhibition Centre stop). 10 mins walk to Darling Harbour which has lots of bars and restaurants and is a lovely place to walk around. 17 mins walk to Town Hall train station. 35 mins walk to Circular Quay (where the ferries go from) or you can get the light rail. 2) The appartment was super dark at night due to the blinds so we slept really well and didn't get woken up by the morning sun. 3) The appartment had everything we needed and there is a shop a couple of mins walk away for supplies. 4) There is a nice coffee place right next door.

AustraliaWe had booked with 5 people and when we arrived there were only beds for 4. A staff member brought a folding bed which was fine - but twice walked in the apartment after knocking - gaining access with his own key. Any one of us could have been changing or in a state of undress, as he did not wait for us to open the door for him. He barely spoke English -so may have misunderstood his management that he needs to wait to be let in if there are paying customers inside.
