눉We found dealing with management on the reception to be a consistently unpleasant experience. We felt under attack every time we had to deal with reception. We booked an apartment through booking.com because we needed the flexibility of last minute cancellations and amendments promoted by booking.com - due to our particular circumstances, we could not predict exactly how long we'd need to stay in the apartment. We booked two separate consecutive bookings to allow for this. On checking in and explaining our circumstances to the manager, the manager launched straight into an argument with us about the terms of our booking, and expressed her strong dissatisfaction with us using booking.com, rather than booking directly with the property. She advised that if I was "special" and had an arrangement whereby I could change or cancel our booking, then we'd need to check with booking.com, but she'd never heard of it in her 20 years of experience. When we needed to extend our booking, and therefore use our second booking, my husband copped another earful about booking.com. I really wonder how the hotel would go if it wasn't advertised on popular websites. In relation to the apartment, the apartment was pretty standard. The lounge was a bit dirty, sticky and uncomfortable, but everything else was clean. There was a balcony, but no chairs, so it was completely redundant. There was a kitchen bench, but no desk, which would make any business trip difficult. The kitchen utensils were very ordinary - cheap pots and pans and blunt knives. It made cooking meals every night a pain. The dishwasher broke at the start of our third week. We asked if it was possible to fix it. The response was that the dishwasher repairman had attended the best western the day before, and he doesn't just sit around waiting for them to call. We checked out a week later - dishwasher still broken.
눇The Best Western is in a good location as it is on the edge of the CBD and within walking distance of The Strand. The apartments are quite generous in size and the pool is nice.

눉The apartment was only serviced once in the 10 days we spent there. The carpets were stained and filthy, the pool was dirty with leaves blown into it, the elevator had blood in it for days after someone had bled in it. The complex is mismanaged and managers were rude and arrogant when we asked for anything. On the weekend it became very noisy with underage drinking and shenanigans at he pool with no managers to be found.
눇We liked the full kitchen and having a washing machine to wash our clothes. The pool was nice for a late afternoon or evening dip.

눉Aircon did not work made our stay very comfortable in such hot weather.
