To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.

United KingdomCar park was very handy but need to make sure you are warned about the height restriction!!! Although the room was well presented and clean it was very small. The sliding bathroom door didn’t close properly which wasn’t great when sharing a twin room!! The shower worked well but did smell very drainy as if it hadn’t been used in a while.
Good location for the city centre. Car park next door. Lovely bar Ava’s. Loved all the historical features and connections to ‘on the Beach’ and also the architect.

AustraliaThe reception Minnie was not very friendly when I first checked in. She didn't warn me about a credit card fee and it was a bit significant after I had swiped my card. She didn't even apologize or was friendly about it or smiled. Had I known there was a fee, I would've paid in cash or use debit. It's a courtesy to let your guests know about the total charge or be nice about it.
The location was excellent. It was close to lots of public transport and shops. Breakfast was decent and filling.

United KingdomThere was a tear in the base sheet on one of the beds (about 25 cm long). We asked at the front counter for the sheet to be replaced by housekeeping and it was not. We rang house keeping and asked them to change it and they did not. It was only, 24 hours later, when I went to the front counter, that the matter was promptly actioned. Overall we loved it at this hotel, but there appeared to be one staff member who was failing at their job. When we told them that the sheet was torn, she offered us complementary breakfast the following day. When we went to check out we were then charged for this breakfast.
This was a special trip. I was bringing mm to Melbourne for her 80th birthday. The hotel made it so special, with special cakes and flowers on arrival. We were so touched, and it really made the trip magic.

AustraliaQuite a wait at reception to check in. Room was near a noisy exterior fan - thankfully we had ear plugs. Many of the breakfast items were running low at 9.30am - but they were eventually refilled.
Great location and professional staff. Beds and pillows comfortable. Breakfast with good variety. Appreciated the free Spritz at Ava's bar. The old section of the hotel is stunning.
