Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Rydges is an older hotel with all the amenities, walking distance to all the restaurants and nearby lagoon.

Concierge desk was never staffed to help book things advertised in the lobby.
Staff were amazing from the first ‘hello’. From having the restaurant and bar, pool and towels and scooters to get everywhere! Everything was always nice and clean with the option to save money for not using house keeping! Once you have the continental breakfast, take the kids across the road to the playground and water park!

The room was tired and could use a bit of paint. Curtains were dusty and chairs need thorough cleaning, lucky I got heaps of sanitisers! Location was fine if you like being away from the action.
Housekeeping fixed our beds and changed our towels everyday but did not vacuum our bathroom and bedroom. Good selection on dinner menu.

The Air Conditioning was practically non existent and needs a Split System Desperately as I had to have the bed moved to under the excellent ceiling fan to be cool. The staff member AK was very accommodating and did his best to correct the issues I wasn't happy with. Having some Stand Up Fans for the rooms that accommodated for those who fèlt the Heat and Humidity would be an issue I'd fix Immediately for guests like me to have air flow for comfort.
The pillows were extremely comfortable and the bed was comfy also. The Bathtub was Amazing and I Wish I had used it more often. If the Hotel was Closer to the Shops I would have stayed throughout my visit to Cairns but with a back injury walking back and forth was Impossible. The cleaner for my room (Melissa) was very helpful and polite and was a delight to talk with. .....

I thought the restaurant was a little sad looking in terms of decor. Staff were pleasant, food was fine. I thought the entry steps to the pool were quite steep and really required a supporting rail. Also the bathroom was very clean and a good shower but the tiles in the shower were quite slippery and again, I thought a grab rail would have been reassuring.
Good location, easy to park. Expansive view from the balcony. Spacious room even if a little dated.

The whole building is dated & scruffy. The bed & room were generally clean but needs a good deep clean. The ceiling lights were very dirty & the balcony needs a make over. The common areas, lifts foyer etc all need a good deep clean. Everything felt uncared for. The pool area & surrounding areas were very very untidy & once again showed a lack of care. For tge price I felt the whole place was lacking. All the staff we came into contact with were very helpful & friendly.
The location is good & breakfast was enjoyable

Having to pay for car parking, $5 to have a bucket of ice delivered to the room. Didn’t try the restaurant as I’m an Accor Member and got 50% off of all meals at the Novotel which was 5 minutes walk away.
Great view, (due to paying for it) and not too far from the CBD. Very good pool setup.

I must have been on one of the worst floors as the night noise was some of the worst I have experienced in thirty years.

No cash accepted and then a surcharge on your card! Maintenance looked way behind on some outdoor areas and gardens. Bellini cocktail wasn't cold - had to add ice!
The children loved the pools. The fruit salad from reception was excellent. Great that the tennis court & equipment was free.
