Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe location was up a long hill from North Sydney Station. It was very confusing to find as they are building a new metro station right next door & there is construction everywhere. You had to enter the property via the bar area, which was a bit underwhelming. They were doing renovations on the property as well, so there was constant noise in the lobby all day long.
The room was clean & modern. The bed was king sized and comfortable. There was adequate toiletries in the bathroom. There was event a shattaf (toilet gun) to use with the toilet

AustraliaWhen we got there we couldn’t check in for some reason. The lady at reception didn’t seem to know what she was doing and there were four of us waiting to check in. This was after 2pm. We were supposed to have a fold out couch as bed but don’t have one so we had to ask reception for a portable bed which they sorted out quickly.
Decent location and the room was recently upgraded

AustraliaWas here during construction, something complimentary would have been nice to offset the construction zone we had to negotiate. The room felt unfinished with just one chair for two people but plenty of room for a more comfortable set up.
The location was quite good.

New ZealandThe building is undergoing renovation, as advised on their website and noted pre-booking. The extent of this during my stay was unexpected. A lot of coming and going by workers using the few lifts. Quite a bit of disturbance.
The view from my room was quite nice.

AustraliaThere were a couple of items that need to be rectified including the lack of hooks or hanging space for towels in the bathroom, and the lack of any cooking equipment despite the room having a full oven and cooktop. The pillows were much too thick and we felt like we sleeping sitting up.....
The room had recently been renovated and the new decor was very nice. It was very spacious and comfortable and the furnishings were very suitable for the available space.

AustraliaBed was the worst we've experienced in years, too soft and we rolled into the middle. Woman on reception desk was very hard to understand because of her heavy accent. Hotel was run down, though in the process of being renovated. Reception area very dark. Parking charge of $38 per 24 hours was expensive, particularly over the weekend when demand was low. Plastic milk for tea.
Parking underneath. Window that can be opened.

AustraliaThe service from staff was a let down. All the staff that we did interact with felt like they didn’t want to speak to you, and not at all welcoming.
The rooms were all newly renovated, the bed was super comfy and the room was clean inside. However, the hotel is still being renovated, the noise after 8am was a little annoying but expected as there is signage advising you of this. Our balcony was covered in grout dust and tile clips from where they hadn’t cleaned up from retiling the area. The buffet breakfast was delicious though!

SpainThe property is currently undergoing renovations which are much needed- some features in the room are quite run down. The request I had put in for a baby cot was not received by the property- apparently housekeeping leaves at 2 so there was no staff able to get a cot to my room when I arrived that evening. The kettle in the room was broken, I called down to reception and waited 40 minutes for housekeeping to bring a replacement but ended up having to go back down to reception in my pj’s with my infant in tow to get hot water.
The location is an easy walk from the North Sydney train station. Easy access to the US Consulate.

AustraliaThe only issue was the shower because I could not find how to turn it on so I ended up using the bathtub instead.
The location is very good, friendly and helpful staff and, a good buffet breakfast. The bedroom was big and comfortable. Pretty dated, though. It felt like I went back to the 80’s but very clean.

AustraliaRead the above...
The hotel is being done up and the room certainly needs it - the refrigerator was so overheated it was a wonder it didn't catch fire...the shower tap needed new washers and with great difficulty I turned it on, it was dangerous as the shower was over the bath and there was nothing to hold on to. However the bed was covered in beautiful white sheets and was a dream to sleep in which is the point. There was a noise in the room above as if it was a gym both when I went to sleep about 10.30pm and again at 6am. And there was a woman's voice 'echoing' down the wall. I had no expectations really knowing the room would not be up to modern day standards. And the staff were extremely helpful.
