How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Beds were a little uncomfortable. :(
Overall very happy with our accommodation location was perfect for our needs, it was clean and tidy and the staff (especially Jo) were friendly and accommodating.

The double story townhouse apartment was a let down. The decor was old (albeit comfortable), the townhouse backed onto a major road, the bedroom window looked out onto a large brick wall, there was limited natural light, the bathroom was not cleaned properly and we were woken up very early by ambulances and traffic. Not a great start. One dining chair was also broken and unable to be sat on without falling backwards. All this said however, the reception staff were AMAZING and ever so accommodating to our complaint and did all they could to offer an alternative accommodation on site.
The service by the staff was great, they bent over backwards to ensure we were happy after I complained about the quality of our original townhouse booking. They offered us two alternative options on site, gave us time to consider and checked in with us after we moved rooms. I can’t fault that at all. Thank you! Hint for housekeeping staff though, please check and replace the dishwashing liquid and liquid bath wash daily.

We didnt have any issues.
We could pick whatever park we wanted. The gentleman was very friendly and explained everything in great detail. The room was also very clean, comfortable and the shower pressure was great.

Air con ? What air con? There were air con units on the side of the building but no air con remotes or controls in the units. There seemed to be no air flow coming out of the couple of vents in the unit. A couple of nights slept on couch down stairs as the upstairs bedroom was too hot and stuffy. Road noise - the motel is on the corner of 2 busy roads with an ambulance bay a couple of doors down. Ambulance sirens and road noise 24/7.
Good sized unit with all amenities including well equipped kitchen, full sized fridge, laundry & separate dining area. Secured car park at night. Nice undercover swimming pool (although the water was a bit cold). The motel is very convenient with shopping centre a 5 minute walk away and plenty of restaurants near by.

One of the towels had marks on it and what appeared to be makeup. The bed was too high. No face washer

The washing machine didn't work properly, there was some shaving residue in the sink and drawer under the sink, and the bathtub was a little dirty.
Laundry detergent, dish detergent, new dish sponges, dish towels, cooking utensils, and hangers were all in stock. Cleaning and linen changes were done daily.

No safety deposit box. The position of the toilet bowl next to shower cubicle was awkward and cramped.
Friendly reception staff. Secure parking. Clean facilities. Comfortable double bed. Toaster, electric kettle, microwave. Some cutlery, cereal bowls, cups and saucers but no plates. Conveniently located very close to several shopping centres

Outside areas was a bit rough in places and sometimes the sirens from a nearby ambulance station were very loud.
Inside our room was clean and modern. Happy we got a two bedroom room, much easy to put kids to bed in a separate area. A very simple but decent place for a short term stay if you don't spend a lot of time in your accommodation.
