Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe residences apartments felt very crammed in. You had to request basic complementaries as none were left. The kitchen was missing key items. Not even a free bottle of water! There are not enough sun beds. Staff will ‘reserve’ people’s sunbeds even though they have not been on the beach for the last 3 hours. This means by 1030am all of the sunbeds are taken even though only 15% have people sitting on them. Every day of our stay the hotel completely ran out of beach and pool towels making a mockery of the towel card system. Three times we had to collect our own food/drinks after seeing them sit on the counter for over 10 minutes whilst staff in the Main Bar stood chatting to each other - then they have the cheek to add a service charge! Every staff member we spoke to (Apart from Orlando and Jontey who were fantastic) was incredibly grumpy and had absolutely no idea what they were doing. This is not their fault, they are clearly not being trained properly by management. For the price we paid we expected so much more from The Crane. It offers the worst value for money out of any hotel I have ever stayed in.
The beach is very pretty and the view from on top of the cliff.

United KingdomThe entertainment was dry and finished early most nights. One of our toilets broke twice throughout our stay, including the first day. Some of the staff were very unhelpful and rude. They incorrectly charged as for items upon check out, only to realise after a couple hours of going back and forth, that we were in the right, with no apology to follow. The food was only outstanding on one day out of ten.
Most of the staff were lovely and helpful. The facilities were good overall.

United StatesHowever, the staff's initial greeting was disappointing, as some were found sleeping on lobby couches or engrossed in social media instead of providing assistance. Additionally, the lack of a bellman when we arrived made it inconvenient to carry heavy luggage up the stairs due to a broken elevator. The rooms themselves had amazing views, but the pool was too cold to enjoy despite its enticing appearance. Furthermore, the broken refrigerator caused a leak in the hallway, posing a potential safety hazard on the tiled floors. Although the maintenance team promptly fixed clogged toilets, their frequent malfunction was unexpected for a resort of this caliber. Regarding our dining experiences, the Italian restaurant, D'onofrio's Trattoria, left much to be desired in terms of food quality and taste. However, the server named Brandon stood out as exceptional. Similarly, the staff at Bar 1887, where the bartenders were friendly, provided a positive experience. The Carriage House restaurant offered the best-tasting food, but unfortunately, the staff there lacked friendliness and seemed unapproachable. One minor issue observed during the stay was colorful fingerprints on the sheets and towels. Initially thought to be stains, it was later discovered that the housekeeper's colorful makeup, including multi-colored eyeshadow, was transferring onto the linen.
Overall, the Crane Resort in Barbados offered stunning rooms with breathtaking views, beautiful beaches, and well-maintained gardens.

United KingdomWe had booked a 4 day/3 night stay and on the 2nd day in the morning, the ac was not working properly. We had appointments to attend to early that morning so we weren't back in the room until the evening time. We contacted engineering who came promptly but could not resolve the issue. We contacted front desk/reception to inform them of the same (that the problem with the ac could not be solved) and they offered us 2 fans!!! The room was hot and uncomfortable, fans would spread the hot air around and not resolve the problem. My husband spoke with them about this and they said they will investigate, and try to switch us to another room, once they have been authorised to change rooms. They said they would have called back that same night, but they did not. (I will not state her name here to cause embarrassment) It was a very uncomfortable night for us and our 2 children. However, the following morning, guest services manager Tamisha, sorted everything out for us and gave us a room upgrade for the inconvenience. She apologised and did her best to ensure we enjoyed our last 2 days. I would recommend training of the staff to deal with matters that can affect guests after what is deemed 'normal working hours '. It was quite inconsiderate for us to have to wait for 8am the following day for a matter such as this to be resolved.
The breakfast was great with a wide variety to choose from. Dinner was excellent on Saturday 10th June at L'Azure restaurant, however we had to wait long for our food. We were told that our group was large, 6 adults and 2 children, hence the reason for such a delay. I believe we should not have had to wait for 1 hour for the main course, after the appetizer was brought to our table.

United Kingdomfood is a bit hit and miss and very overpriced, housekeeping staff was very poor and often left no towels or any amenities. ‘pools’ in the suites are basically a small plunge pool and not worth the cost. Rust is everywhere if you look closely.

United StatesThe staff weren't the friendliest. I felt like I was intruding on them and felt like I needed to apologize for some reason. Also, there wasn't much to do there besides laying at the pool. It would have been nice to have some excursions or something. If there were excursions, we didn't know about them.
The grounds and resort were beautiful. Our room was huge, clean, and nice for getting the junior suite. Pools are great and the beach is very close.

United Kingdomprobably should check the room facilities more thoroughly before arrival. The sofa bed was old and rusty with springs coming through the mattress, then shower rail in the main bathroom fell off the wall and the oven wasn't working (which at 5pm on Christmas day when we had to cook our own Christmas dinner IS a problem). Also tried to book Christmas dinner 3 weeks before arrival to be told there was NO availability in any of their restaurants. The hotel should have considered that we might want Christmas dinner especially since we booked the hotel in May and once they saw bookings coming in should have sent us a note to ask us if we would want to make a booking - good news they provided a rollaway bed the next day, repaired the shower fixing the next day and replaced the oven by 7pm on Christmas day.
